today I want to share with you my opinion about Chain Spinner, an often overlooked and underrated card.

heute will ich euch meine Meinung zum Chain Spinner präsentieren, einer oftmals übersehenen und unterschätzten Karte.
In this article I am only referring to the strength of Chain Spinner in the silver league at its max lvl 5, since I am a silver league player myself.
When General Sloan came out, I was pretty hyped at first, only to discover that he is not the best (maybe even the worst) of the new summoners.
My decks never seemed to work the way I imagined it before, with the biggest problem being that my tank in the front was always dead before the ranged minions could unfold their damage. The heal of Venari Crystalsmith was nice, but most of the times not enough to stop the tank from being killed quickly.
I quickly thought of adding Lone Boatman and Adelade Brightwing to the mix, giving the tank additional surviving chances thanks to the repair ability of both of these minions and the resurrect of Brightwing.
Again, this worked better in theory than in practice. The main problem was, of course, magic damage. Magic usually ignores armor which turned picking one of these minions into a disadvantage in a lot of games. If your enemy relies heavily on magic damage, the armor makes no difference at all.
Chain Spinner is a solution to this problem. His ability Void Armor forces magic attacks to hit the armor first, guaranteeing the repair minions to do their job.
In diesem Artikel beziehe ich mich auf die Stärke von Chain Spinner in der Silber Liga auf dem dort maximalen lvl 5, da ich selbst Silber Liga Spieler bin.
Als General Sloan rauskam, war ich zuerst sehr gehyped, bis ich dann gemerkt habe, dass er nicht der beste (vielleicht sogar der schlechteste) der neuen Beschwörer ist.
Meine Decks wollten einfach nicht so funktionieren, wie ich mir das zuvor vorgestellt hatte. Das größte Problem dabei war, dass mein Tank in der ersten Position immer bereits tot war, bevor die Schützen ihren Schaden ins Rollen bringen konnten. Die Heilung von Venari Crystalsmith war nett, aber meistens einfach nicht genug, um den Tank am Leben zu erhalten.
Ich habe schnell darüber nachgedacht, Lone Boatman und Adelade Brightwing miteinzufügen, um dem Tank dank der Reparatur Fähigkeit beider Minions und der Wiederbelebung von Brightwing mehr Überlebenschancen zu geben.
Doch erneut funktionierte dies in der Theorie besser als in der Praxis. Das Hauptproblem war natürlich Magie Schaden. Magie ignoriert normalerweise Rüstung, weshalb es sich in vielen Spielen eher als Nachteil entpuppte, diese Minions mitzunehmen.
Der Chain Spinner löst dieses Problem. Seine Fähigkeit Antimagierüstung zwingt die Magieattacken dazu, zuerst die Rüstung zu treffen, was den Reparatur Minions erlaubt, ihren Job zu erledigen.

Even better, the real benefit of armor is suddenly there for almost 100% of the time: blocking high attacks with even 1 single armor. Your enemy can have all sorts of high attack minions, as long as your Chain Spinner has 1 armor, it will block the entire attack (except for minions with the shatter ability, but they are rarely seen in silver). In between these attacks, your Chain Spinner will most likely get his armor repaired by one of your repair minions, stalling the game and giving your minions the time to finish off the enemy one by one.
The resurrection ability will also help keeping your Chain Spinner alive. It doesn't really matter that he is revived with only 1 Health, since its armor will be full again.
Adittionally, enemy abilities like affliction or cripple are not really a concern, since you do not rely on your health, but your armor. Only poison is really a hardcounter.
If you add Chanseus to the mix, you will have 3 repair abilities and 2 resurrections, letting him become Chain Spinner the Undying.

Besser noch, der wirkliche Nutzen von Rüstung ist plötzlich wieder zu fast 100% gegeben: hohen Schaden selbst mit 1 Rüstung abzublocken. Der Gegner kann alle möglichen Minions mit hohem Schaden haben, solange der chain Spinner mindestens 1 Rüstung hat, wird der gesamte Angriff abgewehrt (außer der Gegner hat die Zerschmettern Fähigkeit, aber die ist in Silber relativ selten zu sehen). Zwischen diesen Angriffen wird der Chain Spinner wahrscheinlich seine Rüstung repariert bekommen, was den anderen Minions Zeit gibt den Gegner zu vernichten.
Die Wiederauferstehen Fähigkeit wird den Chain Spinner ebenfalls am Leben halten. Es ist eigentlich egal, dass er mit nur 1 Leben wiederaufersteht, da die Rüstung wieder voll sein wird.
Außerdem machen gegnerische Fähigkeiten wie Heilhemmung oder Verkrüppeln nicht viel aus, da ihr euch nicht primär sein auf Leben, sondern eben auf seine Rüstung verlasst. Lediglich Vergiften kontert euch ziemlich.
Wenn ihr Chanseus mit in den Ring werft, habt ihr dann 3 Reparatur Fähigkeiten und 2 Wiederbelebungen im Spiel, was den Chain Spinner fast unsterblich werden lässt und Kron Konkurrenz macht.

That is a really good point! Chain Spinner gets meme'd quite a lot, but Void Armor is no joke as an ability, especially with Ressurrect, as well as Repair!
