Hello dear Splinterlands Community,

This is my first participation in the share your battle challenge.
In my opinion Deeplurker is one of the best cards in all of the Chaos Legion set and also of the water splinter in general, which is why I include it in almost every match and also gave it a spot in my article about my top 5 Chaos Legion monster cards.

About the card

Opportunity is one of the most useful abilities in the game, and with the relatively low mana cost of 6 the Deeplurker can be included in almost every battle.
Its speed is also pretty decent and when played together with Kelya Frendul (which most of us newer players probably do), there is a good chance that it will attack first or as one of the first and may take out an enemy monster before it has even landed one attack.

Since it is a melee monster, it can also be used in the front position as soon as it has to move up, which is not to be underestimated, as other cards such as ranged monsters usually do not have this advantage.

It also synergizes very well with Demented Shark and the new chaos legion legendary card River Hellondale, which both give melee attackers +1 attack.

About my battle

The rules in my battle for this challenge were rise of the commons and explosive weaponry. I tried to maximize both the speed and the opportunity ability of the Deeplurker, which are particularly useful together with the blast ability, because the probability of hitting an enemy monster in the middle and dealing damage to both sides is pretty high.

I put in the Demented Shark to strengthen the damage of Deeplurker and all the other melee monsters of my team (River Hellondale was not possible due to the rules) and sped them up with the help of Kelya, who also gave them +1 armor for protection. Additionally, the Creeping Ooze slowed down the enemy, allowing my monsters to hit first.

As you can see, the strategy worked very well and the Deeplurker was able to get a perfect first hit, making the most out of the blast ability granted for this match. The enemy stood no chance and did not even kill one of my minions.

The might of Deeplurker was too big this time.
