Reviewing all my assets in Splinterlands (These are my next steps and what I want to do)

Cards.png

Greetings, Splinterlands friends

I’ve had assets in Splinterlands for a while now and wasn’t sure what to do with them, but after evaluating the entire game landscape, I’ve made a crucial decision that will allow me to align with my new goals. The idea is to build an ecosystem that allows me to grow in the game with little capital, since I don’t have the resources to acquire a complete deck at this point; plus, the competition is in the “Modern” format, and it’s hard to play there without a decent deck, which would likely cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.

On the other hand, my current deck of cards—or at least the ones I have and managed to buy back then—have lost a lot of their value, you’ll see why later on. This means that I have to work harder than anyone else to make progress in the game without a large amount of capital backing me up. So, what I want to do is write out and explain my plan in this post—it might take me quite a while, but it will keep my mind occupied and, most importantly, focused.

What is my current deck, and what should I do with it?

These are my current cards, and as you can see, they're from the "Chaos Legion" set. I bought these right when the set was at its peak, so obviously I paid a premium for them. The set had just been released, and since the previous ones had been a huge success, I expected the same from this one. I spent over $50—maybe a little less—to collect a few cards. I’d already sold some of them, and I kept these because I’ve had to step back a bit due to health issues.

But the value of all these cards dropped dramatically because the number of packs they released was really very high; the supply of cards was unreal, which caused unprecedented inflation. Even so, I was aware of the risks and I’m not upset, but these cards are practically worthless due to the large number of copies in circulation, so I imagine you’re wondering the following:

What am I going to do with them?

The answer is simpler than you might think, but I won't do anything about it; I won't be able to buy another deck or a few more cards for the price of these, so I'll keep them, but this forces me to find other ways to build a competitive deck, and to do that, I have to start from the bottom.

Although it’s true that several of the “Legendary” cards I have are worth between $0.40 and $0.50, and I might be able to raise around $4 to $5 to get some resources that will help me progress in the game. And even though I can start for free, a little boost wouldn’t hurt at all, especially since I’m starting over with practically no resources.

So, now that we've cleared that up, what's the plan?

Here is the "Step-by-Step Guide"

I've mapped out a step-by-step plan to make progress in the game; I need to do this to move forward, because the process is long and requires perseverance. So the key to success here is precisely that—perseverance—though this applies to any area we want to work on. But I won't keep you with a long speech; let's get to the important part:

  • Sell my Legendary Cards: This is the first thing I need to do, since that will net me between $4 and $5. With that money, I’ll head to the marketplace and use it to buy a few specific “Common” and “Rare” cards to start building up my collection; it won’t be much, but it’ll add a little versatility to my deck.

  • Play "Campaign Mode" and then "Frontier": The next thing I would do is play Campaign Mode to earn all the cards in the (Foundations) set. Once I'm done, I'll immediately head to "Frontier" to play my first battles, try to earn lots of rewards, and climb the leagues. This will allow me to earn more cards and strengthen my deck.

  • Playing "Wild Format": After playing, this would kick off with "Wild Format," which is the format that lets me play with all my cards without any restrictions; it's true that I need about 2,000 DEC, but with the payments from my posts, I could cover the cost and purchase the seasonal Wild Pass; of course, I'd have to do this right at the start to get the most out of it.

Why do I think this will work?

To be honest, I'm not sure if this is the best option, but it's what I want to do and what I'll be using to get started for free; plus, I'll be documenting the entire process on this blog on "Hive," which will also help beginners like me who don't yet have a concrete plan for getting started for free.

I'll make this work, although, as I said, the process will be quite slow. I was originally planning to sell all my cards and switch to the "Modern" format, but the cards are so cheap that I had to scrap that plan. This one will work, though—but only if I stick with it. Time will tell.

End

I recommend following me because I’m posting a lot of interesting stuff about Splinterlands, especially if you’re just starting out in the game; of course, I’ll be posting my art from time to time. I haven’t had time to create or draw another illustration based on one of my favorite cards, but if you want me to keep going, why not leave a suggestion for the next card I should draw in the comments? I’ll do my best, so stay tuned; I hope this post has been helpful.

Have a good game, everyone!
