Starting a new gaming adventure can be very daunting especially when faced with the complexity of a game like Splinterlands. No matter the type of game being played, a learning curve is needed to excel in it. In this blog post, I will give out some valuable advice for new players to use in order to scale up the learning curve fast.

1. Don't rush it:

The first and most important step is to take things slowly. I've introduced some friends to Splinterlands who just want to learn everything in one day. If you're that kind of person you'll be easily frustrated. You need to Recognize that every pro player was once a beginner and a noob. So Instead of being discouraged by failures or losses from the very beginning, you need to view them as opportunities for improvement. When I started my losing streak almost got me very discouraged, the whole game was actually overwhelming but I just had to calm down. Understand that each defeat you have carries valuable lessons, and continuously, those lessons will pave the road for success.

2. Learn from Pro Players:

You need to gain knowledge from the base of Pro players in b the game. Whether through forums, video tutorials on Youtube (Bulldog actually helped me a lot to understand Splinterlands), or live streams, observing and learning from Pro players can be very valuable and help you learn strategies, techniques, and the overall knowledge of the game. The Splinterlands family is a very friendly one so you'll have lots of people always ready to help you out with anything.

3. Be a Basics Pro:

Before trying to learn the advanced stuff in the game, ensure you have a solid understanding of the game's basics. Get familiar with things like, card combinations, cards abilities, the different types of splinter, their debuffs and buffs etc. A strong foundation is needed to build advanced skills. Take the time to go through the basics, understand character abilities and the like.

4. Set Easy Goals:

Establish realistic goals based on your personify. Setting realistic milestones will give you a sense of progression in the game and keep you motivated always. As you overcome smaller objectives, then you'll gradually challenge yourself with more complex ones. This gradual approach prevents frustration in the game, and allows for steady and consistent improvement.

5. Patience is Key:

Patience is a great virtue, especially when navigating the learning curve of Splinterlands. Improvement takes time, could be very long and expecting instant results can lead to frustration or depression. Embrace the journey and focus on those little progress you make. Patience not only reduces stress but also creates room for a deeper understanding of the game's mechanism.

6. Analyze Your Losses/Gameplay:

Actively analyze your battles to identify areas for improvement. Record your matches, go through them, and mark mistakes or missed opportunities. This self-analysis provides valuable feedback and hastens one's learning process. Also, seek feedback from players, mainly on their discord server who can offer valuable perspectives.

7. Large Your Experience:

Explore different areas of the game to widen your skill set. Try different card combinations or just random stuff at all. Experimenting with various playstyles not only makes your gaming experience more fun but also promotes adaptability. Diversifying your experience will allow you to handle different rulesets within the game.

8. Practice Often:

Just like they say, practise makes perfect. Dedicate regular time to play the game and focus on specific aspects or splinter types you want to improve on.

9. Have a Mentor:

If possible, find a mentor to offer you guidance in the game. Like me, my mentor was a member of the guild I joined. He always assisted me with any questions I had about the game. Mentors can provide valuable advice, share advanced strategies, and help you overcome challenges. Learning from someone with more experience can significantly skyrocket your progress.

10. Always be Informed:

Splinterlands often have updates and balance changes. Stay informed about the changes in splinterlands. You can do so by reading posts on the hive Splinterlands Community or getting news from their discord server as they can significantly improve gameplay.

11. Learn from your Defeats:

Instead of crying over defeats, use them as learning opportunities. Review your mistakes, understand the opponent's strategies, and test them out. Every defeat is a chance to improve your skills in the game.

Mastering the learning curve is an important part of everyone's Splinterlands gaming experience. Embrace the process, seek guidance from Pro players, and have a patient and analytical approach. With consistency, self-reflection, and a commitment to improvement, you'll find yourself scaling the heights of skill and enjoyment within Splinterlands.
