Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Fog of War 1 - Modern Diamond Ranked

Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with the Fog of War rule set!

Fog of War is a rule set that takes away the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities. This means that attacks will hit the creature in the front position, with 2 exceptions: a monster with Taunt will still take attacks that can attack it and Scattershot will work as usual. There's nothing too crazy that you can do with this rule set. You have to pay attention and not use monsters with Sneak or Opportunity thinking they will attack from the back. You can place fragile monsters in the back because they're less likely to be hit. The Grimbardun Smith strategy works very well without Lily Shieldpaw. Reach gains more value because that's the only ability that allows a melee monster to attack from a position other than the first, in this rule set. Soon, that will change, when Venka the Vile shows up. Possibilus the Wise is excellent for this rule set since you can place 2 big melee tanks in the first 2 positions no matter their abilities. It's not the most interesting rule set but it's not the worst either and it changes how the game is played, which is cool.

Let's take a look at a game with this rule set. I found an interesting battle in a Modern Diamond Ranked: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_7859440dbb718b7a124fe1330bae1603

This game also has the Weak Magic and Aim True rule sets. The top player went with Possibilus and chose Mantaroth and Coastal Sentry as the 2 tanks. They also placed Daarg Deadblast between Scavo Hireling and Merdaali Guardian and finished with a surprisingly not max level Igor Darkspear. Usually, when I play Possibilus, I prefer Arkemis the Bear and Mantaroth (or Coastal Sentry). I think I would have gone with the first option and played Chaos Agent instead of Scavo Hireling. The bottom player went with Avina of the Wolf. They used the Silverblade Fighter + Jared Scar combo and placed Iziar behind it. Adelade Brightwing, Dax Paragon, and Venari Crystalsmith completed their team. They gave the Healing ability to their first monster.

In round 1, Iziar took some damage but Silverblade Fighter and Mantaroth took the most. Mantaroth was left at 4 health and with Affliction and Silverblade Fighter was down to 3, despite all the armor, Heals, and Repair. Coastal Sentry took out their Tank, dealt some Damage to Jared Scar, made them use the Resurrect on the first monsters instead of Iziar, and took out some of its armor. Iziar went down to 2 health, however, the bottom players fought back and killed Mantaroth. Round 3 was a big one for the top player. They killed Iziar, Fighter, and Jared Scar before they could do anything. That sealed the game and it ended on the next round.

About the team I would have built, according to Xbot's Battle Vision, this game is about 95% for the top player, however, it doesn't account for the Battle Tactics. With my team, I would still be the favorite, but with just around 70%, and that's without the Heal. So, my team would be much worse against the bottom player. However, in a Possibilus mirror, it would be my team getting around 95% win chance, and there are no flaws with this one since there are no Battle Tactics.
