Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Silenced Summoners 2 - Modern Diamond Ranked
Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with the Silenced Summoners rule set!

Silenced Summoners is a very simple rule set. It makes every summoner lose all their abilities. The strategies for this are not very complex. The most basic one is: the less mana the summoners cost, the better. That's why the old 2 mana summoners like Xander Foxwood have always been good options for the rule set. Dragon summoners are also generally better than other summoners because they allow you to pick more cards. Rebellion introduced dual element summoners. The common ones only cost 3 mana, which is very cheap and the cheapest option in Modern, making them the best option for this rule set, fairly often. The most unknown strategy for this rule set is one that applies only when the limit is bronze or gold level cards. It's not relevant for ranked play anymore but it's relevant for tournaments and Brawls. Epic summoners at bronze and gold level, allow the player to use rares at 1 level higher than the supposed limit of the league. It's a somewhat weird interaction but it's one worth taking advantage of. It can be used in any rule set but it's where it's easier to use.

Let's take a look at a game with this rule set. I found an interesting battle in Modern Diamond: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_2effc3029c8d9bc5cf28a59e1972a6c6

This game also has the Keep Your Distance and Heavy Hitters rule sets. The top player, Yabapmatt (the CEO himself!), chose Chuul Jujinchi. He placed Grimbardun Smith in front, followed by Iza the Fanged, Goblin Psychic, Acid Shooter, and Chaos Agent. His opponent, didn't have the 3 mana summoners, so they picked Obsidian. It's not a huge difference because only Earth is available but it's still 1 more mana spent. They put Chaos Agent in front, with Fungul Flinger in the second position. Next, they opted for Regal Peryton, Goblin Psychic, the new reward card Blackmoor Jynx, and Acid Shooter.

The top player's first 2 attacks sealed the game. Iza attacked the Acid Shooter down to 2 HP and Yabapmatt's own Acid Shooter attacked first and killed his twin. After this, even extreme RNG of Chaos Agent dodging every attack, Iza will end up killing the backline. Nothing too relevant happened during the rest of the game. The bottom player wasn't even able to kill the opposing Goblin Psychic because when it was at 1 HP it hit the Chaos Agent. Yabapmatt won the game in round 7, without losing a single monster. I think he was the favorite to win but I can clearly see a way for him to lose. It would require his Acid Shooter to hit (or miss) something else. The best case would be for it to target Chaos Agent and miss. After that, the bottom player's Acid Shooter needed to hit Iza. Poison isn't even necessary if nothing else dies because Blackmoor Jynx can finish Iza. At this point both Acid Shooters are the best cards and the one who survives wins.
