Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Getting a Huge Usut!

Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.

I fought an interesting battle in Modern Diamond ranked. It was a battle where I combined Lorkus and Usut to beat a very strong Cryptic team. Lorkus buffs the whole team's magic and melee attacks. It also provides Life Leech and Affliction to up to two units, as one of the Tactics. Usut is a magic unit with 3 attack points, Bloodlust, and Heal. It is possible for Usut to grow big by itself if it gets a bunch of kills. It's not easy, and not crazier than any other Bloodlust unit. However, giving it Life Leech allows things to get out of hand. Especially in very long games, where the opposing team is also able to survive for very long, increasing the max HP and Healing itself every round, can potentially last until the max Fatigue, which I believe is round 100.

This game had the following rule sets: Four's a Crowd, Equalizer, and Scattershot. It was a 40 mana cap game, with only Fire and Life inactive. I went with Lorkus and placed Djinn Muirat in front. I followed it up with Chaos Adjutant and Usut. I finished the team with Arachne Weaver. They opted for Cryptic and placed Mantaroth in front. Next, they had Baakjira and Daarg Deadblast. Their last unit was Anasth Soothsayer. I gave Life Leech and Affliction to Usut and the Weaver. They gave Poison and Expose to Mantaroth and Anasth.

Round 1

Because of all the Heals available, the damage wasn't as important and inflicting status. I managed to Poison Daarg and Anasth, but they also did it to my Djinn and Chaos Adjutant.

Round 2

I was afraid of losing the Djinn after three of their attacks hit it, but thankfully, the last one didn't, and the Eaver undid the damage. This time, no one inflicted Poison but Anasth and Baakjira became stuck with Affliction.

Round 3

This time, they took down my Djinn. They also managed to Poison my Weaver I did the same to Mantaroth, but it didn't matter much because of Anasth's Cleanse. Their Daarg got Affliction too.

Round 4

I was able to finish their Daarg. Not that important because Triage didn't do anything anymore but it was nice to have to face one less attacker.

Rounds 5 and 6

They eliminated my Adjutant in round 5. In the following one, my Weaver also went down, after some Scattershot hits and Blast damage. Mantaroth also Poisoned my Usut.

Round 7

It was 1 vs. 3, but Anasth died to the Poison, and that eliminated the Healing on their side. Usut was already Healing for 9, at this point, while gaining 2 max HP from its attack onto Mantaroth. They were still dealing more damage, though. 7 from Mantaroth, 3 from Baakjire, and 2 from the Poison.

Rounds 8 and 9

Usut finally took out the Mantaroth, which made it impossible for it to get killed. It finished the game in the following round because it had Oppress to nullidy the effect of Void.

This didn't come close to being the pinnacle of Usut's potential growth, but it was a nice showcase of the pairing of Usut and Lorkus. It's not easy to beat Cryptic and their team was full of very good cards.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
