Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - is Eternal Tofu Unbeatable?

Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.

I fought an interesting battle against Eternal Tofu. When Tofu was revealed, it was pretty underwhelming. It only had +2 HP and Snare plus the Tactics, which are the same as they are now: Divine Shield and Corrosive Ward to 3 targets or Scavenger and Triage to 1 target. In my opinion, this was a pretty weak legendary summoner. It's not that it wouldn't see play and have its uses, but it would likely be the worst legendary summoner of the set. However, there isn't much connection between these abilities and stats. There is a theme, which is increased survivability, but there's barely any synergy. There is nothing that makes Divine Shield better by having +2 HP or Snare. The same applies to everything else, except Corrosive Ward which has some upside with Divine Shield and +2 HP. A very minor thing. And then they decided to add Thorns to the universal abilities. That made it very good, maybe too good. The card now has a ton of synergy. Thorns works well with +2 HP, Divine Shield, Triage, Scavenger, and even Corrosive Ward. The only thing that is still a bit out of place is the Snare. I believe Snare could have been removed. Eternal Tofu would still be very good but it would be a bit worse against fliers and it would be nice for Risqruel Drath, the worst Rebellion legendary summoner, to not be countered so hard by the best one. So, we have established that Eternal Tofu is very good. But is it unbeatable? That's what we will find out today!

This game has the following rule sets: Equalizer, Corrosive Fog, and Explosive Weaponry. I went with Conqueror Jacek, an amazing summoner for The blast rule set! I put Chaos Agent in front to try to evade attacks, followed by Venator Kinjo, for the Reflection Shield and speed control. Next, I placed Scavo Chemist for more speed control and Headwinds. The last 3 were my damage dealers, with 2 of them giving me more speed control: Supply Runner, Blood Maker, and Countess Sinash. They used Eternal Tofu with Pelacor Conjurer in front. They followed it up with Fungus Flinger and Olivia of the Brook (at max level). Next, they put Chaos Adjutant and Meriput Magician. They finished the team with Acid Shooter.

They gave Triage and Scavenger to Olivia. In round 1, Olivia gained Camouflage from the Blast damage of the Countess' attack. In my opinion, Mimic should not apply to Blast damage (whether the unit has Magic Reflect or not). Other than that, they missed most of their attacks on Chaos Agent, taking Backfire damage. Olivia gained Phase, Cripple, and Amplify in the next 3 rounds. Rounds 2 and 3 were more of the same, but in round 4, I started killing their team. First it was Fungus Flinger, followed by Olivia and Chaos Adjutant. They Poisoned my Countess, however, at this point, it didn't matter. In round 6, I killed the rest of their monsters, without losing a single one of mine.

It was an intense battle that was won on the back of speed control and the combination of Blast and Scattershot. Eternal Tofu might be amazing, but it isn't always the best choice!

Oh no @tarazkp ... you got lit up in a social media challenge. So Tofu is beatable!! Scattershot can do well against Tofu, but it can also get crushed by the triage when Jacek scatters to the wrong places. Shame you got my guildie like that!
