Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - my favorite Conclave Arcana Death cards
Hello everyone! Today I'm gonna talk about the cards in Conclave Arcana that I like the most, in the Death splinter. I already made posts for Fire, Water, Earth, and Life. Death has some interesting cards but none that I really love using.
Razi Clanktrap

Razi is a very interesting Archon. Not because of the Close Range, but the Painforge. It's not easy to use, but when the Gnome strategy works, it can be devastating. However, it usually involves some Rebellion Gnomes, which I don't have. Chaos Animator, Nimbledook Scout, and Daigendark Surveyor are three non-attackers Gnomes that can combine with Moxian Rebel or Lucky Longshot, plus Water Diviner, creating a dangerous army. It works perfectly in Little League, because all those units are available in that rule set.
Deep Delver

Any unit with Corrupted Healing is worth considering. There's already Arachne Weaver, which costs less mana but this is another option. It's actually nice to have two of these so they can Heal each other. Rust and Deflection Shroud are no joke either as they are often extremely useful. I don't have Heloise, but I've seen it used well with it. The Healing helps and the Rust makes Heloise much more deadly.
Umbral Elemental

Taunt plus Swiftness isn't the best combination. Usually, I want units with those abilities to survive as long as possible. It's still nice to have and the Deflection Shroud is pretty cool with Taunt, so that Blast units only do the regular damage. It's also a fantastic tank for magic only matches. I have used it with other Taunt units so that it gets to live a little longer (I placed the other unit before Umbral). There's a cool strategy in the Explosive Weaponry rule set to stop most Blast damage, at least while Umbral is alive. If you place it in the third position, you're giving Deflect to the second and fourth units. This unit is surrounded by units with Deflect, so attacks that target it, don't deal any Blast damage. Units that attack the front position, also don't deal any Blast damage because the unit behind the first one had Deflect. It's most often the best position for Umbral, under that rule set.
Filthy Scavenger

It's not as powerful as I expected because it's very difficult to get value out of the Bloodline Tribute. However, it's still 4 mana for a 4 attack melee unit with Opportunity and Ambush. That's a strong attacker for such low mana. I hope that when Conclave Arcana reward cards are released, we get some good Gnomes and other Bloodlines, so that they can compete with Ulunds. Ulunds were pushed much harder than the rest, and I don't understand why. Or we can always get more Shapeshifters in the airdropped units and maybe Voucher/promo cards.

Other than these, there's Lucky Longshot but I rarely use it over Moxian Rebel. I tend to consider both when I'm using Lorkus and the extra ranged type attack doesn't seem as valuable the extra point in magic damage, especially when using a unit like Grimbardun Smith, which you might want in front. I have also used Shadowfey Sheik and Gonach Excavator very effectively in one game, where the Sheik reach 7 attack. Life Leech not only negates the downside of Reckless but it also keeps getting more effective the higher the attack stat. But I haven't been able to replicate it yet. Another unit I want to make work is Thragha but I haven't been able to.
