Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Olivia can make the difference
Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.

I fought an interesting battle in Modern Diamond ranked. It was a battle against Lorkus, a very strong player who bought enough Rebellion packs in the pre-sale to create his own summoner, named after his account. I faced a full Gold Foil team including Eternal Tofu and Venka the Vile. My team was similar, just not as shiny. However, I included Olivia of the Brook in my line-up. I have written, in the past, that the best card among the Rebellion rewards is not her but Halfling Refugee because it can be used so often, however, when you need Olivia, she's not just good but she's amazing. The combination of Deflect and Mimic is what makes her so powerful. Having Opportunity and 2 attack types also helps.

This game had the following rule sets: Target Practice, Beefcakes, and Armored Up. It was a 29 mana cap game, with only Fire and Life available. I went with Eternal Tofu and started the team with Halfling Refugee. I followed it up with Pelacor Conjurer and Dax Paragon. Next, I placed Venka and Venari Crystalsmith. I finished the team with Olivia. Lorkus also picked Tofu and Halfling Refugee. Meriput Magician was the next unit, followed by Gallicus and his own Dax Paragon. Scavo Hireling and Venka were his last two units. We both gave Triage and Scavenger to Venka.

Rounds 1 and 2
In the first round, not much took place. His Gallicus droped to 2 HP but Dax didn't trigger the Affliction. My Halfling also went down to 3 HP. However, in the following round, things started to get serious when Venka eliminated my Refugee and Pelacor. My Venka got some revenge by taking out Gallicus and putting his Dax to 2 HP. Olivia finished the Dax. Olivia gained Shield at the start of this round.

Round 3
Olivia gained Scavenger but his Venka killed my Dax and Venka. That was a big blow and Olivia was my only attacker left, because I had the Crystalsmith in the front.

Round 4
Olivia gained Heal, at the start of the round. Venka dealt a lot of damage to my Crystalsmith. Even though Venka was taking a lot of Thorns damage, Triage plus Scavenger was keeping it healthy and more difficult to kill.

Round 5
This time, Olivia gained Repair. After that, she gained Strenghten when Meriput attacked her because of the Target Practice rule set. Venka finished my Crystalsmith and Trampled into Olivia. The game didn't look good with just Olivia against 4 units.

Round 6
Camouflage was the Mimic ability, this round, which was irrelevent. However, after getting attacked by Meriput, she gained Tank Heal. Venka dealt some damage but Olivia had Shield, Repair, Heal, and Tank Heal. She couldn't get killed by his team, but also couldn't kill any of them, except for the Refugee, because it was inflicted with Affliction.

Rounds 7 to 20
During all these rounds, Olivia gained Trample, Oppress, Piercing, Slow, and Triage. After this, there were no more abilities to Mimic.

Rounds 21 to 2X
We reached the Fatigue rounds but there was still a lot of sustain on both sides. By round 25, his Hireling finally went down. Meriput followed it in the following one and Venka was put in the front, losing access to the healing from Triage. Finally, in round 27, Venka took enough damage to fall and my Olivia was still alive, winning me the game!

This was one of the craziest games I've played. Many people have seen screenshots of Olivia with even more abilities than she had here. However, usually it happens in games where she doesn't end up alone, sustaining herself against 3 or 4 units, and finally overcoming the enemy after several rounds of Fatigue. I was very happy to take this one, which I didn't expect to.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!

nice win against the one of the best

Wow, your lineup in his battle is so strong! Especially with that refugee and pelacor at the beginning, while the deadly attackers are doing their job from behind. Great battle, keep it going.
Thank you!
