The Genius Way Splinterlands Tested The Demand And Created Hype For Cosmetics

Hello everyone! We've heard the players asking for cosmetics from the Splinterlands team. However, sometimes that does not translate into real demand. The Splinterlands team used the Tuesday maintenance window to add some new things. Among those, they changed the art of 3 cards: Kelya Frendul, Venari Marksrat, and Uraeus.

All 3 fit a Halloween theme and the cards they changed are cards most people have access to. Kelya is a rare summoner that everyone has in the starter cards, Uraeus is an epic but it's pretty cheap because it's from the first back of CL rewards, and Venari Marksrat is a CL soulbound reward card that most players will have, unless they started playing 3 months ago. On top of that, they wanted to give a Halloween feeling to the site. They changed the reward chests to fit into it, as well as the image in the main battle screen.

This was good because it's a temporary free preview of what they want to sell in the future. We had many players excited about these and I saw several people asking if and when they could buy those skins for the cards to have them permanently.

We know the team was already working on a skin system called Glamour but this way we got to see a bit of it in action and the team got our reaction.
