I never really cared about sports events in general, aside from soccer maybe which is somewhat of a national thing here.
It feels like there have been increasing outcries about these events lately and all kinds of reasons not to support them.

You know, its interesting. Maybe its just the people I know now compared to years ago, but it seems like less people watch sports now, at least more traditional sports like basketball, baseball, football, etc and the Olympics. Now it is more people telling me they watch a game here or there but dont really care, or they only watch MMA, or even no sports at all.

Personally I think it has to do with the SJW wokeness in the NFL and NBA (among other organizations), that really turned people off. People are sick of the PC garbage and threatened to boycott these organizations, and ratings are indeed down, so apparently they were not kidding and really did stop watching. Perhaps the people who were boycotting realized that not watching these long games gave them more free time and started other hobbies or something. Or caused them to merely cut down the amount of games they watch if nothing else.

I don't watch the Olympics. I have nothing against them and not watching is not a protest or anything. I only have antenna TV, but one channels seems to only show the Olympics right now. From time to time as I'm flipping around, I stop for a few moments, mostly if someone is skating. I don't know why, but it doesn't excite me to watch.

I especially am not watching this year. Choose to boycott. But honestly never watched as much past years but definitely a bit. But I remember it being a big event as a kid in the late eighties and the nineties. Definitely aside from the boycott China stuff it’s been trending this way a bit.

Yup, same here, and I pretty much quit watching other sports a while ago, but if I had still watched football or basketball, I would have also boycotted those, due to the extreme SJW politics that they decided to interject into the games. People watch sports to get away from politics, so when they started openly supporting political organizations and calling millions of people (especially white people) racist sexist homophobic Nazis, I think that was the last straw for a lot of people. The ratings have been down for the last 2 years if I recall correctly, so it seems as though the boycotts are working.

I'm with you. The magic of watching the Winter Olympics isn't what it used to be, that's for sure! @old-guy-photos 📺🍿❄

It should not be a big surprise to those who know me that I enjoy watching the ice hockey games but I have not gone out of my way to view when they are playing live as I did in prior years.🏒🚨🥅 And figure skating events are enjoyable, especially the pairs. However, I am beyond appalled by the lack of swift action regarding the doping scandal involving the 15-year-old female ROC skater Kamila Valieva.⛸💊

I am disgusted at China's genocide and human rights abuses on the Uyghur people!!! Why they were allowed to host the Winter Olympics is beyond me!😡🇨🇳😠
