Weekly Battle Submission: Starring The Dragon Splinter + Opening 2 Chaos Packs
(Edited)
This week's Splinterlands Share Your Battle Challenge is featuring the Dragon Splinter. This Splinter is one you'll have to build up on your own beacuse the monsters aren't included with the Spellbook.
I personally like utilizing the dragons in high mana battles (30 mana or above) where the opponent isn't likely to use a lot of magic attack.
The Dragon Splinter
Always looking to stir the pot in the Splinterlore, the united Gloridax (the Dragon Splinter) are never in direct conflict with the other Splinters If you haven't noticed, they are the lone splinter that combines with others for battle. They are masters at playing both sides of the fence to maintain there superiority.
Having a few good Dragon monsters in your deck really gives you more versatility in battles, especially in the high mana type battles I mentioned earlier. The 2 dragon monsters I currently use the most are Djinn Chwala (owned) and The Vigilator (rental).
In the Bronze and Silver leagues these 2 paired together usually crush the competition with the right ruleset...especially against opponents that are heavy on melee and light on the magic attack. My opponent seemed to like the Fire splinter based on his match history and the "equal opportunity" ruleset now was a good time to bring out the dragon squad.
Based on the available splinters to pair with The Gloridax, I decided to go with the Water splinter to throw the Axemaster in the mix. Now I have 2 double strike monsters to go along with the thorns on the Djinn Chwala.
What makes The Vigilator a tough out is that when it can melee attack from any position (like in the equal opportunity ruleset), it actually strikes the opponent 4x...2 melee at 2 damage, and 2 range at 1 damage. This will rip right through a team with a lot of monsters with low health, as it did here.
Even though I only have 3 monsters that attack, to my opponents 5, my team can strike 7, potentially 8 times per round (thorns from Djinn Chwala).

My Chaos Legion Pack Openings
Now to my pack openings:
Pack #1 - The first pack opening was a score. I ended up getting 3 common cards, 1 rare summoner - Obsidian, and 1 epic monster - Grund. Very rarely do I get a summoner out of a pack opening so that was definitely a plus. Also the rare and epic cards are part of the same splinter (Earth) so that gives me a good start to building my Earth splinter post-Chaos Legion.
Pack #2 (won in a giveaway by @blutengel, thanks again!) - The 2nd pack opening wasn't as great but I did get 2 rare monsters to help bulk up my Fire splinter.
