Shadow Snitch - Battle Challenge

SHADOW SNITCH

Now's the time for another Weekly Battle Challenge, and in this post, I'll tell you all about the Shadow Snitch, a new common death monster from the Chaos Legion! I must admit that before this challenge, I haven't used him that much, but either way, it's an interesting card,

Stats

The Shadow Snitch costs 4 mana, and at level 1, the level I'm using, has 1 melee, 1 speed, and 5 health. It also has Reach at level 1, meaning that it also attacks while being in the 2nd position.

At level 6, it gets Affliction, and once maxed level, Dodge. Even though it doesn't gain any armor, and much health, once at level 10, it can work as a good tank, especially for little league.

Preparations

Ruleset

Standard: No modifications to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

  • Allowed Splitners: All.
  • Mana Cap: 24.

For the previous battles, the enemy went for Death Splinter, I decided to also go for Death to try to counter his strategy. With this strategy, Shadow Snitch would allow their tank to fall faster than mine.

Cards Used

CardDescription
THADDIUS BROOD

I think that Thaddius is the weakest of the Chaos Legion summoners, however, his -1 health debuff is great since making the frail units even frailer.
CURSED WINDEKU

Thanks to Thorns, any monster that deals melee damage to him, gets damaged as well. Thanks to this ability, the Cursed Windeku is one of the best tanks for Death.
SHADOW SNITCH

As I said before, it can attack the main enemy tank while being in the second position. It could be troublesome if the enemy also went for the Cursed Windeku.
LIFE SAPPER

One of my favorite new chaos legion cards. It has Life Leech, meaning that it gains health every time it deals damage. This makes it stronger the longer the battle goes, so I put it in this position to protect it for the first rounds.
SOUL STRANGLER

For a 3 mana monster, this ranged attacker hits hard. Although it can be frail, with a little protection, it can cause damage.
RIFTWING

I decided to use it as a sneak attack tank in the final position. Thanks to its good speed and Fly it can dodge attacks while gaining health each time a monster dies.

Battle

And now, I'll tell you about the battle. However, to see the full battle, click here!

ROUND 1

Well, the enemy didn't use Death, but Obsidian, which gives +1 magic to their team, and even though my prediction was incorrect, Thaddius is a great counter for Obsidian, since he gives -1 magic to the enemy.

At first, the Windeku defeats Mycelic Morphoid. Then the Life Sapper and Soul Strangler defeat the Failed Summoner. After that, the Riftwing does its role as a sneak tank. dodging the Goblin Thief's attack, and having even more health than at the start of the battle thanks to Scavenger. Finally, the Windiku takes a magic attack and Shadow Snitch deals some damage to the Goblin Psychic, leaving it with only 1 health.

ROUND 2

The Wendiku once again defeats the monster in front and then the Life Sapper defeated the Khmer Princess, leaving Peryton as the tank, and he's a great dodge tank thanks to Fly and his great speed. Because of that, he manages to dodge both the Soul Strangler and Shadow Snitch's attack.

ROUND 3

This round I'm luckier and the Wendiku, Soul Strangler and Life Sapper land their attacks on Peryton, defeating it. Finally, the Goblin Thief attacks the Wendiku, but it also receives damage, dying, because of the thorns. With this, I win this battle, without any casualty.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Even though the enemy didn't go for a Death team as I had predicted, the fact that they chose Obsidian was great for me as well.

With my team, Windeku and the Riftwing were 2 highlights, both being great tanks in their ways. And the Soul Strangler, while it is a card I don't normally use, I had great success with him and I'd like to play with him again in the future.

Finally, as for the Shadow Snitch, I'm not sure he was a great pick in this battle. Maybe once you level it to level 4, and it has 2 melee damage, it would be a lot better. But, as a level 1 card, I'm not very fond.
