The weekly challenge now is Equal Opportunity. In this ruleset, all units can attack anywhere, targeting units with lower health. Often in this ruleset, they use the taunt ability so that the opponent's attack focuses on one direction. It's an effective strategy if one of your monsters with high damage has the lowest health. You can also set up by using a monster with martyr ability; most of those with martyr ability have low health, like Vruz and Venari Marksrat. What others do is they place the martyr in the middle of two monsters they want to boost the stats. Because your health is low, there's a chance it will be the first target of the opponent, and this speeds up increasing the stats of the monsters you want to boost.
59 mana cap, the available elements can you use are water, earth and life. The ruleset are rise of the commons, equal opportunity and heavy hitters.
TEAM COMPOSITION
I chose Possibilus The Wise as the summoner to provide an additional +2 health to all units. I also chose him because of the trample ability that he will give to all units. This is in case the opponent dies; the trample attack will trigger and hit the next unit. For the first position, I chose Diemonshark, a melee attacker with enrage and trample ability. Because Diemonshark has high armor, I selected him as the tank for the battle. For the second position, I chose Deeplurker, a melee attacker with opportunity ability. He deals significant damage and is fast, so I included him in the lineup. For the third position, I chose Venari Marksrat, a ranged attacker with martyr ability. I placed him between Deeplurker and Coastal Sentry so that if the opponent targets him and he dies, his martyr ability will trigger immediately, increasing the stats of Deepluker and Coastal Sentry. For the fourth position, I chose Coastal Sentry, a melee attacker with a double-strike ability. Because of the Equal opportunity ruleset, Coastal Sentry can attack even when in the 4th position. Coastal Sentry's double strike ability is a great help in the offense. For the fifth position, I chose Arkemis The Bear, a melee attacker with protect and halving abilities. He will provide an additional +2 armor to all units, and his halving ability is to reduce the target's attack by half. For the last position, I chose Supply Runner, a ranged attacker with swift ability, to increase the speed of all units by +1.
KEYNOTES
I made sure that Venari Marksrat has the lowest health so that he will be targeted first by the opponent, triggering his martyr ability immediately, and increasing +1 all stats for Coastal Sentry and Deepluker.
The trample plus double strike ability is also a big help, for example, on the 1st attack, he kills the opponent and triggers the trample, he will attack three times or four times if he manages to kill the opponent again.
BATTLE SUMMARY
In round 1, the opponent's plan to strengthen Katrelba Gobson by placing two monsters with martyr ability in the middle did not materialize. Instead, Coastal Sentry targeted Katrelba Gobson first because she had the lowest health among the opponent's lineup.
In round 2, as planned, the opponent targeted Venari Marksrat because he has the lowest health. As a result, Deepluker and Coastal Sentry's stats were increased by +1.
The battle ended in round 5. Due to the large amount of damage Endless Ape received, it couldn't survive until the next round.
Overall, my plan was successful in directing the attack towards Venari Marksrat to boost the stats of Coastal Sentry and Deepluker in the battle. Additionally, Arkemis The Bear Protect ability, which provides an additional +2 armor to all units, proved to be a big help in the battle since my opponent primarily used physical damage.
