SMC: The backdoor (Sneak attack)

Hello Family and Guild Mate

Now, let's discuss one of the common attack plans used in the game. There are many strategies to win the game, but what matters most is knowing how to position your monsters on the battlefield. Even if your opponent has an advantage in the level of cards they use, if you don't position your cards well on the battlefield, you may still lose. Sometimes you might wonder why you dealt so much damage and your cards are at max level, yet you still lost. Why did my opponent win even though their cards were under-leveled? Check if you didn't follow the rules of the battle, or perhaps you didn't notice the rules of the battle. One of the most important factors could be that your card positioning on the battlefield was incorrect. That's why positioning is really important in the game; it's a key factor that can lead you to victory in the game.

The attack plan I will discuss is the backdoor attack. The term "Backdoor" comes from the word "backdoor," meaning we enter from the back or last position of the opponent to attack. So, if you're going to use this attack plan, you'll need a monster with the sneak ability. This is because the sneak ability targets the opponent's rear instead of the front position when attacking.

When I started playing Splinterlands, what I often saw used for low mana situations was the backdoor strategy using Life or Water. For Water, the cards used are Sabre Shark (3 mana), Pelacor Bandit (3 mana), and Elven Cutthroat (3 mana). Sometimes they also use Coral Wraith (4 mana). The tank they use is either Spineback Turtle or Tortisian Fighter. For Life, the cards used for the backdoor attack are Elven Cutthroat (3 mana), Feral Spirit (3 mana), and Silvershield Assassin (7 mana), while Crystal Jaguar (4 mana) is used as the tank.

28 mana cap, the available elements can you use are fire, earth, life, and dragon. The ruleset are Holy protection and weak magic.

I choose Tarsa as a summoner to grant additional +1 life and melee attack to all units. For monsters, I choose Iidri Fyre for the 1st position because of the large life and the ability to redemption can help to remove the holy protection granted from the rulesets if Iidri Fyre dies. For the 2nd position, I choose Clockwork Aide because of the large armor and the grant of additional +1 speed to all units. For the 3rd position, I choose Scavo Hireling to repair the armor of all units. Because weak magic is one of the rules, it's necessary to maintain the armor of the units for protection against magic in case the opponent uses it. For the 4th position, Uraeus Because my plan is a backdoor attack the sneak ability of Uraeus fit for my lineup. Also, the poison of the Uraeus helps to easily eliminate the monsters of the opponent. 5th position, Gobalano Soldier because of sneak, shatter and Ambush. The combination of shatter and ambush helps to easily destroy the armor of the backline or the last position of the opponent. And for the last position is Tenyii Striker because of her sneak and dodge ability. The dodge of Tenyii helps to dodge the melee or range sneak attack of the opponent.

My 3 cards for the backdoor attack are Tenyii Striker, Gobalano Soldier, and Uraeus all 3 monsters have a sneak ability.

In round 1, Iidri Fyre died, triggering the redemption ability. When the redemption was triggered, the Holy Shield protection from the rulesets was removed from all units of my opponent.
My opponent no longer has holy protection shield, so my next attacks will directly penetrate the opponent's armor or health.

In round 4 The Shatter of Gobalano Soldier, helps to easily destroy the 8 armor of Clockwork Aide in the battle.

Overall, my plan in using the backdoor attack was successful because my opponent didn't put much defense in his backline, so my monsters quickly entered. Additionally, the shatter ability of Gobalano Soldier helped to easily break through the opponent's armor.
