A peculiar new bud appeared at the tips of the highest branches of the Elder Tree. The animals living in the tree watched as the strange buds grew, and in a matter of days, burst open. How are you people from HiveBlog? I hope you are doing great! Today I bring you another entry for the @Splinterlands art contest. It's a legendary card, since it's one of the first cards in the game and the art community has made many, but when I say many...it's because there have been many #fanart of the character. I'm talking about Wood Nymph, which for me is a beautiful character and I feel that my version is just as beautiful as the original.

Como están gente de HiveBlog? Espero estén super bien! El día de hoy les traigo otra participacion para el concurso de arte de @Splinterlands. Es una carta legendaria, ya que es una de las primeras cartas del juego y la comunidad de arte ha hecho muchos, pero cuando les digo muchos...es porque han sido muchos los #fanart del personaje. Les estoy hablando de Wood Nymph, el cual para mí es un personaje hermoso y siento que mi versión quede igual de hermoso que el original.

I started making the sketch and I took all the time I needed to get it right, since I wanted to finish this #fanart with a good final work. I sat down to look at the original illustration for a moment, so I could look at the details and elements that I could take and integrate them into my version. After an hour and a bit more of sketching, I finally had it ready and it was just what I wanted to do. I feel I was able to capture that elegant and beautiful essence of the character in my version.

Comencé haciendo el boceto y me tome todo el tiempo necesario para hacerlo bien, ya que este #fanart quería terminarlo con un buen trabajo final. Me senté a ver un momento la ilustración original, para así fijarme en los detalles y elementos que pudiera tomar para integrarlos en mi versión. Después de haber estado una hora y algo mas haciendo el boceto, por fin lo tuve listo y simplemente era lo que estaba deseando hacer. Siento que pude capturar esa esencial elegante y hermosa del personaje en mi versión.

After the sketch, the next thing to do was to start with the color work, but here I must confess that I was not convinced to work the skin color in that green tone, since it is not the type of color palette that I usually use in my work, so I decided to change the color of the skin of the character and adapt it to my style. I worked the skin tone in a very light ocher color, making details in it with orange and red tones, simulating redness, something very normal in my style of painting.

Luego del boceto, lo siguiente que seguía era comenzar con el trabajo de color, pero aquí debo confesar que no estaba convencido de trabajar el color de la piel en ese tono verde, ya que no es el tipo de paleta de color que suelo usar yo en mis trabajos, así que tome la decisión de cambiar el color de la piel del personaje y adaptarla a mi estilo. Trabaje el tono de la piel en un color ocre muy claro, haciendo detalles en la misma con tonos naranjas y rojos, simulando rojeces, algo muy normal en mi estilo de pintado.

The hair I left it green like the original drawing and his clothes I painted in a light pink tone, because I feel that if I painted it in the same color tone of the illustration, it would not be fully appreciated, since it would look the same as the skin tone. Finally I did the final details as usual in me, the line work, details in the skin, shadows, shines and so on. I loved this drawing very much, sincerely it is added to my list of favorites of the year.

El cabello si lo deje de color verde como el dibujo original y su ropa la pinte en un tono rosa claro, ya que siento que si lo pintaba del mismo tono de color de la ilustración, no se apreciaría del todo, ya que se vería igual que el tono de la piel. Ya por ultimo hice los detalles finales como es de costumbre en mi, el trabajo de linear, detalles en la piel, sombras, brillos y demás. Este dibujo me encanto y mucho, sinceramente se agrega a mi lista de favoritos del año.
