Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all super well and if you're not, you will be soon! I'm here to share with you my participation for the @Splinterlands art contest and for this I made a fan art of the character Mischievous Mermaid, you know I love mermaid characters or those inspired by mermaids, so I chose her for this occasion.

Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Vengo a compartirles mi participacion para el concurso de arte de @Splinterlands y para ello hice un fan art del personaje Mischievous Mermaid, ustedes saben que amo los personajes que sean de sirenas o estén inspiradas en las mismas, así que fue la escogida en esta ocasión.

I knew that to draw this character, I wanted to make a more dynamic pose, since I've been experimenting more on that side and little by little I'm leaving to do only portraits or faces. I took the liberty of looking for several references on Pinterest to help me structure a good pose for this drawing, so I leave you with the whole process of this illustration:

I'm not going to lie to you, it took me a long time to do the sketch, since I gave myself the task of making little by little the pose I had chosen, which if we see my drawing, the pose it has is very dynamic and drawing it took me more time than usual, but it was something I wanted to do. The initial sketch had a few polishing until I had a clean and detailed sketch and after a few hours, I finally had the final result for the sketch.

No les voy a mentir, dure mucho tiempo haciendo el boceto, ya que me di la tarea de ir haciendo poco a poco la pose que había escogido, que si vemos mi dibujo, la pose que tiene es muy dinámica y dibujarla si me tomo más tiempo de lo normal, pero era algo que quería hacer. El boceto inicial tuvo unas cuantas pulidas hasta llegar a tener un boceto limpio y detallado y después de unas cuantas horas, por fin tuve el resultado final para el boceto.

I'm going to work on the color and if we see the original character, his skin is a green tone, which is ugly for my tastes, so what I did was to change the skin tone for my drawing and the rest of the color palette remained the same, varying in the shades of the same. I paint the skin little by little, adding shadows and a couple of highlights. I make the eyes, nose and mouth and add details in the skin.

Paso a trabajar el color y si vemos al personaje original, su piel es un tono verde, lo cual se me hace feo para mis gustos, así que lo que yo hice fue cambiar el tono de piel para mi dibujo y el resto de la paleta de color quedo igual, variando en las tonalidades de la misma. Voy pintando la piel poco a poco, agregando sombras y un par de luces. Hago los ojos, nariz y boca y agrego detalles en la piel.

I keep working on the clothes and elements that we find in the character, adding details and so on. The truth is that this illustration has been the one that has taken me more time to finish, but it has been worth it, because the final result of it, I loved it too much. Then I move on to the hair, which I always leave to paint and detail it at the end, because it always takes me more time to finish it and this time it was a bigger and longer mane.

Sigo trabajando la ropa y elementos que encontramos en el personaje, agregando detalles y demás. La verdad que esta ilustración ha sido la que más tiempo me ha llevado en terminar, pero ha valido la pena, porque el resultado final de la misma, me ha encantado demasiado. Luego paso a hacer el cabello, que siempre lo dejo para pintarlo y detallarlo a lo ultimo, porque siempre me toma mas tiempo en terminarlo y esta vez era una melena mas grande y larga.

Finally I paint the fish that I added to the composition, add bubbles and detail the hair more. The background I just did some gradients in blue from light to dark and that's it, that would be all. To tell the truth, this has been one of my top drawings of the year in terms of digital illustration, I loved the final result and I see that I'm getting better and better, which fills me with joy and satisfaction all my improvement.

Por ultimo pinto el pescado que agregue a la composición, agrego burbujas y detallo mas el pelo. El fondo solo lo hice con unos degradados en azul de lo mas claro a oscuro y listo, eso seria todo. La verdad, este ha sido uno de mis dibujos top del año en cuanto a ilustración digital, ame demasiado el resultado final y veo que cada vez más estoy mejorando, lo cual me llena de alegría y satisfacción toda mi mejoría.
