The dark witch known as Contessa L’ament brings a chill to the entire audience of Mount Mox whenever she is called upon to summon. Her flowing robes seem to absorb light from all around; it is said that the eminence of a dark star is woven into their fabric. The ghastly, rasping voice she uses to control her monsters is naturally amplified as it echoes through the arena. Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! Returning to the art contest by @Splinterlands, this time I made the character Contessa L'ament, a character I've always had a huge fanaticism for. The truth is that I did my best to make a meaningful work and it is evident that it has some mistakes, which I will try to correct for my next work. But in the meantime, I'll keep practicing and improving.

Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Retomando el concurso de arte por parte de @Splinterlands, hice esta vez al personaje Contessa L'ament, personaje el cual siempre he tenido un fanatismo enrome. La verdad hice mi mejor esfuerzo para que quedara un trabajo significativo y es evidente que tiene algunos errores, los cuales intentare corregir para mi próximo trabajo. Pero mientras tanto, a seguir practicando y mejorando.

I started making the sketch, taking references from Pinterest and from the same character, in order to structure very well my version of this letter. I wanted to work this character in half body, since that's what I've been practicing lately, remember that I personally like to draw only faces, but I've been practicing more doing illustrations where I make the characters in half body and so little by little do different things. As usual, the elements that I integrated in the sketch, are the same that we can find in the original illustration, so there is nothing different to see.

Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando referencias de Pinterest y del mismo personaje, para así estructurar muy bien mi versión de esta carta. Quise trabajar este personaje en medio cuerpo, ya que es lo que ando practicando últimamente, recuerden que a mi en lo personal me gusta dibujar solamente rostros, pero he ido practicando mas el ir haciendo ilustraciones donde hago los personajes a medio cuerpo y así poco a poco hacer cosas diferentes. Como es de costumbre, los elementos que integre en el boceto, son los mismos que podemos encontrar en la ilustración original, así que no hay nada diferente que ver.

Then I did all the color work, taking into account the color palette of the original character, which I personally love too much and I must say that I tried to get a good color work in this illustration. It is a color palette in cold and dark tones, since what predominates are mostly purples and violets, so I played a lot with those tones. But to start this illustration in terms of color, I began by applying all the base colors that would integrate or would be in this drawing. After that, I start detailing the whole illustration itself.

Luego pase a hacer todo el trabajo de color, tomando el cuenta la paleta de color del personaje original, que a mi en lo personal me encanto demasiado y debo decir que hice el intento de que me quedara un buen trabajo de color en esta ilustración. Es una paleta de color en tonos fríos y oscuros, ya que lo que predomina mas son morados y violetas en su mayoría, así que juegue mucho con esos tonos. Pero para darle comienzo a esta ilustración en cuanto al color, comencé aplicando todos los colores base que integrarían o estarían en este dibujo. Luego de eso, comienzo a detallar toda la ilustración en sí.

I started with the bull skull as a mask, adding shadows and lights to it, taking as a reference an image from the internet to help me a little. Then I started to do the hair, which is always something I struggle to do, but this time I had no problem doing it, since I have been taking tips to work it better and better. Everything at this point I had been working with a single brush, actually all this illustration I did it with a single brush, which has the name of Round Blender Brush in Clip Studio Paint, program that I currently use to illustrate.

Comencé por el cráneo de toro que tiene como mascara, agregando sombras y luces al mismo, tomando como referencia una imagen de internet para ayudarme un poco. Luego paso a hacer el cabello, el cual siempre es algo que batallo para hacer, pero esta vez no tuve complicación al hacerlo, ya que poco a poco he ido tomando consejos para trabajarlo de mejor manera. Todo a este punto lo había venido trabajando con un único pincel, en realidad toda esta ilustración la hice con un único pincel, el cual tiene el nombre de Pincel mezclador redondo en Clip Studio Paint, programa que uso actualmente para ilustrar.

That's how I was working on the whole illustration, detailing the hands, clothes, background and other things. The truth is that this drawing took me about 3 days to finish it completely, because my method of work is slow, because if I'm working on something quickly or in a hurry, I just don't enjoy it and it stresses me out hahaha. So I was working at my own pace, enjoying everything at every step, at this point I must say that it is one of my favorite drawings so far this year, I can say that it is one of my top illustrations of the year.

Así estuve trabajando toda la ilustración, detallando las manos, ropa, fondo y demás cosas. La verdad que este dibujo me llevo unos 3 días en terminarlo por completo, ya que mi método de trabajo es lento, ya que si ando trabajando en algo velozmente o apurado, simplemente no lo disfruto y me estresó jajaja. Así que iba trabajando a mi ritmo, disfrutando todo en cada paso, que a este punto debo decir que es uno de mis dibujos favoritos a lo que va el año, puedo decir que es una de mis ilustraciones top del año.
