Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I bring to the table another fan art of @Splinterlands. I'm talking about the card and character of 🐍 Javelin Thrower 🐍, to participate in the weekly art contest. I think it's the third time I draw it, but it's a character that I like so much and now that I'm in the digital world, it was time to draw it again. I will only tell you that I deeply loved this illustration, you know that I love to make portraits and this one was not going to be the exception.
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Traigo a la mesa otro fan art de @Splinterlands. Les hablo de la carta y personaje de 🐍 Javelin Thrower 🐍, para participar el concurso de arte semanal. Creo que ya es la tercera vez que la dibujo, pero es que es un personaje que me gusta tanto y ahora que ando en el mundo digital, ya tocaba dibujarla de nuevo. Solo les diré que ame profundamente esta ilustración, ustedes saben que amo hacer retratos y este no iba a hacer la excepción.
I started making the sketch, taking the original character as a reference and I also went to Pinterest to look for references that would help me to structure the whole character in a good way. Actually, it didn't take me so long to make the initial sketch, so much so that after I had it, I went to make the line art.
Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando como referencia al personaje original y también me fui a Pinterest para buscar referencias que me ayudaran a estructurar todo el personaje de buena manera. La verdad, no me tomó tanto tiempo hacer el boceto inicial, tanto así que después de haberlo tenido, me fui a hacer el line art.

As you are gradually getting to know, I make two line art, one in gray and the other in black, as this way the sketch looks more contrasted, as for the line art, since it is something that I have been integrating to my drawing style and I want it to be present in my work and how not to make a quality line art for my drawings. After making the double line art, I'm going to work on the color.
Como poco a poco van sabiendo, hago dos line art, uno en color gris y otro en negro, ya que así se ve mas contrastado el boceto, en cuanto al line art, ya que es algo que he ido integrando a mi estilo de dibujo y quiero que esté presente en mi trabajo y como no hacer un line art de calidad para mis dibujos. Luego de hacer el line art doble, me voy a trabajar el color.

To work the color throughout the drawing, what I do is to take as a reference the color palette of the original character and from there, I start to make my own palette, since my colors are always used in grayish tones and not so saturated. I start by placing a base color throughout the illustration, for this I use a light ocher, which would be for the skin and after that, I add the respective colors for each area of the character.
Para trabajar el color en todo el dibujo, lo que hago es tomar como referencia la paleta de color del personaje original y de ahí, parto a hacer mi propia paleta, ya que mis colores siempre los suelo usar en tonos grisáceos y no tan saturados. Comienzo colocando un color base en toda la ilustración, que para ello use un ocre claro, que seria para la piel y luego de eso, voy agregando los colores respectivos para cada zona del personaje.

Finally I do the last step, which is to work the details such as shadows and lights, concluding with the background that I always do last. To make the details in the drawing, I always do them with watercolor brushes, since they are the ones that give me the best dynamism at the time of making them and they are the ones that have adapted better to my style in digital. After the details, I make the background, my backgrounds are always simple, I just add a couple of details and that's it. This was a drawing that I finished in less than two days, which surprises me a little, since I finish my digital illustrations faster and faster, I think I've taken the rhythm to this world hehe.
Finalmente hago el ultimo paso, que es trabajar los detalles como las sombras y luces, concluyendo con el fondo que siempre hago de ultimo. Para hacer los detalles en el dibujo, siempre los hago con pinceles de acuarelas, ya que son los que me brindan mejor dinamismo a la hora de hacerlos y son los que mejor se han adaptado a mi estilo en digital. Luego de los detalles, paso a hacer el fondo, que mis fondos siempre son simples, solo agrego un par de detalles y listo. Este fue un dibujo que termine en menos de dos días, lo cual me sorprende un poco, ya que cada vez termino mas rápido las ilustraciones en digital, creo que ya le he tomado el ritmo a este mundo jeje.
