Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! Happy New Year to all! Best wishes to all of you! To start this new year, I decided to redo the Mischievous Mermaid character, since it was a card I drew a few months ago and the truth is, I didn't like it at all. As I've been improving and developing my drawing style, why not draw it again, right?
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Feliz año nuevo a todos! Mis mejores deseos para todos! Para comenzar este año nuevo, decidí hacer de nuevo al personaje de Mischievous Mermaid, ya que fue una carta que dibuje hace unos cuantos meses atrás y la verdad, no me gusto para nada. Como he venido mejorando y desarrollando más mi estilo de dibujo, por qué no dibujarlo nuevamente verdad?
To start with this fan art, I took as inspiration the original character to take the elements that we can find in it and integrate them to my version. I also took the sketch of the last drawing to improve it a little, since the pose I did in that version I loved, so I wanted to rescue it. After being a while structuring the sketch and having it ready, I began to work the line art. Remember that I make two line arts, one in gray with a nib brush and then another in black, with the same brush, but this time I reduce the size of it, so I have a line art in contrast between gray and black.
Para comenzar con este fan art, tome como inspiración el personaje original para tomar los elementos que en el podemos encontrar e integrarlos a mi versión. También tome el boceto del dibujo pasado para mejorarlo un poco, ya que la pose que hice en esa versión me encanto, así que la quise rescatar. Luego de estar un buen rato estructurando el boceto y de tenerlo listo, comencé a trabajar el line art. Recuerden que hago dos line arts, uno en gris con un pincel de plumilla y luego otro en negro, con el mismo pincel, pero este vez le bajo el tamaño al mismo, así me queda un line art en contraste entre el gris y negro.

The next thing I do is to start working the color and for this I take as a reference the color palette of the original character, as well as I make use of the chromatic circle and color theory to do all this step. This color palette, to what I have learned over time through the chromatic circle, is triadic; since I made use of three main colors, which were green, pink and red, although I used it at my convenience the truth.
Lo siguiente que hago es comenzar a trabajar el color y para ello tomo como referencia la paleta de color del personaje original, al igual que hago uso del circulo cromático y la teoría de color para hacer todo este paso. Esta paleta de color, a lo que yo he aprendido con el tiempo mediante el circulo cromático, es triádica; ya que hice uso de tres colores principales, los cuales fueron verde, rosa y rojo, aunque la use a mi conveniencia la verdad.

I started adding the base color in the drawing and for that I started with the green of the skin. I'm one of those who add the base color in the whole drawing and then I add the rest of the colors respectively, it's better for me to work that way, I don't know. One of the things I always enjoy doing when I'm working on any drawing, is to do the redness on the face and other areas that require it, I love it too much. I should also say that to do all the color work on this drawing, I made use of different brushes. From watercolor brushes, markers and so on and the truth is that all these brushes combined gave me a very good result.
Comencé agregando el color base en el dibujo y para ello comencé con el verde de la piel. Soy de los que agrega el color base en todo el dibujo y luego voy agregando el resto de los colores respectivamente, se me hace mejor trabajarlo de esa forma, no sé. Una de las cosas que siempre disfruto hacer cuando estoy trabajando en cualquier dibujo, es hacer las rojeces en la cara y demás zonas que lo requieran, amo demasiado. También debo decir que para hacer todo el trabajo de color en este dibujo, hice uso de diferentes pinceles. Desde pinceles de acuarelas, marcadores y demás y la verdad que todos estos pinceles combinados me dieron un resultado demasiado bueno.

The truth is that all the color work takes me hours and hours to do, since I am working everything in a calm and unhurried way. At the same time that I am working the color, I am adjusting it with the tonal correction, looking for everything to be harmonious in its totality, raising and lowering the intensity of the colors and other adjustments. Something I noticed in this drawing, is that you can really see and notice the great improvement I have had in digital art. I have decided not to work backgrounds in my drawings, I don't like to do it, so I'm not going to do it hehehehe.
La verdad es que todo el trabajo de color me lleva horas y horas hacer, ya que voy trabajando todo de forma tranquila y sin apuros. A la vez que voy trabajando el color, voy ajustando el mismo con la corrección tonal, buscando que todo sea armonioso en su totalidad, subiendo y bajando la intensidad de los colores y demás ajustes. Algo que note en este dibujo, es que de verdad se ve y se nota demasiado la gran mejoría que he tenido en el arte digital. He decido no trabajar fondos en mis dibujos, no me gusta hacerlo, así que no lo voy a hacer jejeje.
