To participate in this week's Splinterlands art contest, I chose the Mermaid Healer card, whenever I see some fan art of her, my eyes just fall in love, as she is a character that I personally love too much, so I wanted to make my version for this week.

Para participar en el concurso de arte de Splinterlands de esta semana, escogí la carta de Mermaid Healer, siempre que veo algún fan art de ella, simplemente mi vista se enamora, ya que es un personaje que en lo personal me encanta demasiado, entonces quise hacer mi versión para esta semana.

To start with this fan art, the only thing I had to do was to take the original card as a reference and from there start structuring the sketch of my version of Mermaid Healer. I'm having too many problems with the electric light, so I did the sketch in traditional, and then I transferred it to digital.

Para comenzar con este fan art, lo único que tuve que hacer fue tomar como referencia la carta original y de ahí partir a estructurar el boceto de mi versión de Mermaid Healer. Estoy teniendo demasiados problemas con la luz electrifica, así que hice el boceto en tradicional, para luego pasarlo a digital.

Being in Clip Studio Paint, which is the digital drawing program I use, what I do is to do the line art work, since the sketch as such is practically already done. What I do is to fix certain things of the sketch to make it look better, since in the traditional sketch I saw that the head was bigger than usual and the neck didn't convince me much, so that kind of things are the ones I fix while I'm doing the line art work.

Estando en Clip Studio Paint, el cual es el programo de dibujo digital que uso, lo que hago es hacer el trabajo de line art, ya que el boceto como tal ya esta hecho prácticamente. Eso sí, lo que hago es ir arreglando ciertas cosas del boceto para que este se vea mejor, ya que en el boceto tradicional vi que la cabeza estaba más grande de lo usual y el cuello tampoco me convencía mucho, así que ese tipo de cosas son las que voy arreglando a la par que voy haciendo el trabajo de line art.

When I had all the line art and sketch well defined, I start working on the color. Taking as reference the color palette of the original character mainly, I add the base color in my drawing. I start with the skin and then I add the other colors for each specific area of the drawing. This is another case where the skin color of the character is green and you know the issue I have with this skin tone in the drawings, so what I did was to change it for one that I liked and that's it.

Cuando tuve todo el line art y boceto bien definido, comienzo a trabajar el color. Tomando como referencia la paleta de color del personaje original principalmente, voy agregando el color base en mi dibujo. Comienzo con la piel y luego voy agregando los demás colores para cada zona especifica del dibujo. Este es otro caso en donde el color de piel del personaje es verde y ya saben el tema que tengo con este tono de piel en los dibujos, así que lo que hice fue cambiarlo por uno que a mi me gustara y ya esta.

After I have added all the base colors in the drawing, what I start to do next is to detail everything, starting with the skin and then I go on to detail the hair, clothes and so on. The first thing I do is detail the face, adding redness on the cheeks, nose and mouth, then I go on to add in the men and breasts. Then I add the shadows, which in my personal taste, I make the shadows in most of my illustrations in purple. I do all this work with watercolor brushes and paint mixers.

Luego de haber agregado todos los colores base en el dibujo, lo que comienzo a hacer después es detallar todo, comenzando con la piel y luego me voy a detallar el cabello, ropa y demás. Lo primero que hago es detallar la cara, agregando rojeces en las mejillas, nariz y boca, luego paso a agregar en los hombres y senos. Seguidamente agrego las sombras, que en mi gustos personales, las sombras las hago en la gran mayoría de mis ilustraciones de color morado. Todo este trabajo lo hago con pinceles de acuarelas y mezcladores de pintura.

The last thing I do is to add final details in the drawing, like some shines, adjust the colors and make the background according to the colors that I have worked on the illustration, so that everything has some harmony between them and ready friends, that would be all.

Lo ultimo que hago es agregar detalles finales en el dibujo, como algunos brillos, ajustar los colores y hago el fondo de acuerdo a los colores que haya trabajo en la ilustración, para que todo tenga cierta armonía entre sí y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
