What I would do if I have 24 hours left

I pray we never find ourselves in such a position, but what if it happens?

I am human, so I will definitely feel sad. I might even get a corner to cry for a few minutes because, really, I don't want to die now. I have a lot of things I want to achieve, and I don't think I have started living my life yet.

First, I will make peace with my maker (God). Not everyone has the privilege of knowing when they are going to die. Yes, it's a privilege to know the time, even though it's a sad situation. I will go to God in prayer for mercy, just like King David in the Bible. I will ask God to cleanse and purge my heart of anything and everything that will hinder me from making it to heaven.

I am not sure I am going to tell my family that I have limited time with them because I don't think I would want to share the little moments I have left, mourning and crying. I will eat, drink, gist, and laugh with them. I want them to have a beautiful memory of our last moments together. I will advise them to love one another, to be there for each other, to keep in touch as much as they can, and above all, to draw closer to God than ever.

I am going to call my friends, and some family members I have been procrastinating calling. I will make peace with those I have offended, and those who have offended me. I will tell them how much I love them and appreciate their impact on my life.

I am going to pen down a beautiful note for my daughter, telling her how much I love her and would love to be a part of her life and that of her siblings. I will advise her to live an impactful and purpose-filled life. She should enjoy her stay on earth while it lasts, because everything is vanity. Above all that she does, she should never depart from the presence of God. There's no life without Him.

After all this, I would spend the last moments I have in the arms of my husband. Gisting, laughing, and talking about all our future plans, I will tell him to continue with the plans and he should not mourn me for long, he should look for a good woman that loves and understands him to marry. I will tell him how much I love him, and would have love to be with him till old age. I will tell him that no matter what life throws at him, he shouldn't give up on life. He's a strong man, and with God by His side, there's no mountain he won't surmount.

As much as a lot of us shy away from this topic, one thing is certain: death is inevitable. This should make us reflect on life and adjust in ways we think we are not doing too well.

Navigating through such a period is not an easy one. I was touched emotionally while reading your article. Death is an inevitable scenario waiting for each and every living soul but people hardly wish to talk about it. Your post reminded me to mend fences and be ready for it anytime. It's our prayers to live till old age. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Your article is very thoughtful and provides a lot of points to ponder on

Your daughter is lucky to have a mother who cares for her, even in her last momement.

Hopefully, none of us will have to experience something like this

Thank you for sharing. 24hours before death is a luxury, many people do not even know they have 24hours to live and some have it but are not healthy enough to have it as a memorable moment. I pray our time would come with ease and leave no much sadness behind.

Glad you have your loved ones in mind
