The Beginning of Everything

I've already talked a bit about how I got here in my introduction post on Hive, but I'll repeat part of it for you: I've been playing card games since I was 13-14 years old, with ups and downs, and the pandemic propelled me back into this world after a long absence. I joined Splinterlands in April 2023, looking for a quick game that could bring me some financial returns. I changed my job sector (I'm an environmental analyst at the Ministry of the Environment in Brazil), and I had very little time for my favorite e-sport. LOR or Skyweaver matches are relatively long and require daily dedication to climb the ranks. Marvel Snap and Splinterlands are very fast-paced games, fitting perfectly into my current lifestyle, although, due to the pace of life I've been leading, I haven't been playing Marvel Snap much, focusing my attention on Splinterlands, which has brought me good results and moments of pleasure and entertainment.

Routine

Every game, to achieve something, requires discipline, determination, time investment, and usually money. What I like about Splinterlands is that it doesn't require much dedication time if you don't have it or can't have it for some time. And with little money, you can achieve good results. Another thing that attracted me was the existence of bots 🙄, which play for you when you can't. For a long time, I've left the vast majority of matches to my Xbot Lite, rarely playing ranked, and focusing my presence on brawls, some rare weekend tournaments, and posts here in the community.

Achievements

I'm a pretty average player, so I don't have big achievements to report. I consider my biggest achievement to have found the Brazil guild, average like me, which welcomed me, and we have been doing well in Tier 2 of the guilds.

I occasionally make posts about my brawls, but they are rare: here, here (first time with 100% winrate), and here.

I identified with the Gold league of the Wild, where monsters have good abilities, but not as many as in Diamond or Champion, and the rental costs are reasonable compared to the rewards obtained. I rent almost all the cards to play in Gold, and eventually, I make in-game profits, earning more SPS than the equivalent of DEC invested. Since season 110, I have established myself in Wild Gold, moving to Diamond 3 at the end of the season to ensure better chests.

In season 109, I invested a lot in energy, focusing on reaching Gold. Then I kind of stabilized, including when I decided I would invest my time in Splinterlands and bought the Xbot Lite. So, the performance below is more from the bot than from me 😀.

Financially speaking, posts have been the best source of profits, but I've had some good in-game performances, and I see myself on an upward curve in terms of SPS obtained, which has helped me expand my SPS savings, increasing my rewards. But I'm renting SPS to maintain a good number of daily chests (usually between 6 and 12) and seasonal chests (a little over 40, always).

Goals

My basic goal is to have some fun, maintain a habit that interests me, and, if possible, earn some or at least cover my investments in the game.

Recently, the work pace has increased considerably; I ended up losing resources due to rentals (of cards and SPS) that expire, and I don't see them, then the bot runs, and I earn almost nothing, losing positions in the ranking... In the next season, I'm thinking of abandoning all rentals and seeing how far my own cards will take me. A difficulty for this is my Summoners, still too weak to play in Gold; I wanted some cheaper Summoners in the Reward collection... I should buy

Esta semana, o Social Media Challenge nos convidou a falar da nossa jornada em Splinterlands: quando começamos, nosso dia-a-dia no jogo, conquistas e metas! Borá lá?

o começo de tudo

Já falei um pouco sobre como cheguei aqui no meu post de introdução à Hive, mas repito parte pra vocês: jogo cardgame desde os 13-14 anos, entre idas e vindas, e a pandemia me impulsionou pra esse mundo novamente, após um longo tempo de ausência. Já joguei Magic The Gathering, Plants vs Zombies Heroes, Shadowverse, Legends of Runeterra, Skyweaver (meu debut em cripto cardgames) e, atualmente, jogo Marvel Snap e Splinterlands.

Cheguei em Splinterlands em abril de 2023, procurando um jogo rápido e que me trouxesse algum retorno financeiro. Mudei de setor no trabalho (sou analista ambiental no Ministério do Meio Ambiente do Brasil), e fiquei com bem pouco tempo pra meu e-sport preferido. Partidas de LOR ou Skyweaver são relativamente longas, e exigem boa dedicação diárias pra subir rank. Marvel Snap e Splinterlands são jogos muito rápidos, se encaixam perfeitamente no meu estilo de vida atual, apesar de quê, pelo ritmo de vida que tenho levado, nem Marvel Snap tenho jogado muito, focado minha atenção em Splinterlands, que tem me trazido bons resultados e momentos de prazer e entretenimento.

rotina

Todo jogo, pra se conquistar algo, exige disciplina, determinação, investimento de tempo e, geralmente, dinheiro. O que gosto em Splinterlands é que ele não exige muito tempo de dedicação, se você não o tiver ou não puder ter por algum tempo. E com pouco dinheiro você consegue bons resultados. Outra coisa que me atraiu foi a existência de bots 🙄, que jogam por você quando você não pode.
Desde muito tempo deixei a imensa maioria das partidas pro meu Xbot Lite, raramente jogo rankeada, e foco minha presença nas brawls, alguns raros torneios no final de semana, e nas postagens aqui na comunidade.

conquistas

Sou um jogador bem mediano, então não tenho grandes conquistas pra relatar. Considero minha maior conquista ter encontrado a guilda Brazil, mediana como eu, que me acolheu, e temos lutado bem no Tier 2 das guildas.

Eventualmente faço posts sobre minhas brawls, mas são raros: aqui, aqui (primeira vez com 100% de winrate) e aqui.

Me identifiquei com a liga Gold do Wild, onde os monstros têm boas habilidades, mas não tantas quanto no Diamante ou Champion, e o custo dos aluguéis são razoáveis quando comparados com as recompensas obtidas. Recentemente, o ritmo de trabalho aumentou consideravelmente, acabei perdendo recursos por aluguéis (de cartas e de SPS) que caem e eu não vejo, daí o bot roda e eu ganho quase nada, perco posições no ranking...
Na próxima temporada, estou pensando em abandonar todos os aluguéis, e ver até onde minhas próprias cartas me levarão. Um dificultador pra isso são meus Summoners, ainda muito fracos pra jogar no Gold, queria uns Summoners mais baratos na coleção Reward... Devo comprar uns raros nível 2, provavelmente vou ficar entre o Prata e o Bronze, mas devo experimentar, pra ver no que vai dar, porque estou com bem pouco tempo pra manejar meus aluguéis, e assim o bot vai poder rodar despreocupado, e eu ficarei despreocupado também.
