Splinterlands Art Contest Entry Week 203 - Camila Sungazer
Okay Splinterlands devs, hear me out. Animated summoner intros.
Hi everyone, newbie Splinterlands player Paff here ^^ I don't really know what to say, I'm okay at art and not at the game, so here I am XD I'm very glad Splinterlands has a place for artists.
For my first entry I chose to do some fanart of Dragon summoner Camila Sungazer. I just think she looks cool and animated summoners and cards would be cool for the game. I'd totally be willing to help out with that. This was a fun piece to do!
PROCESS
Outline
Super rough sketch
Base colors
Color corrections
Cleanup part 1
Cleanup part 2
Finished image (only halfway done technically XD)
Separation of parts: in order to do a Live2D work, individual parts of the image must be isolated so that they can be rigged to move. This part is always tedious, at least for me, and in the next image in the leftmost panel of step 9's image you can see somewhat the extent of how many parts there are for this image
Live2D: Parts are rigged and animation parameters are set. This part takes several hours, I just forgot to take a few interesting screenshots before the end
Animation: Live2D model is moved to canvas and keyframes are set to the final movements. Then export and done!
The gif included in this post and the actual entry on Splintertalk are only 330X300 pixels big, but the actual final product is 2200x2000 pixels big. The animation loop is exactly 7 seconds long, I think. And it took me maybe around 25 hours to make, though I was pretty lazy XD This is a very cartoony style and I think it would've looked nicer if I'd taken the time to use a more comprehensive style. But I think this style has its charm too XD
Thanks for reading my post and taking a look at my work. I hope to meet other wonderful artists here and hopefully make more works in the future for the game. Bye!

Hello, @paff! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post.
