I live in Italy and I'm a student of engineering.
I'm interested in sustainability and rational use of energy, among other technical things.

I'm looking to talk a bit about myself and see what there might be out there for me on Hive.

I don't particularly like sharing pictures of myself but I've been advised to do so, as a way to prove that I'm a real person. I hope everyone appreciates the effort!
I will try to include some more pictures of me from time to time.

My journey on Hive

I got introduced to the Hive ecosystem through the Splinterlands game, which is perhaps a novelty for the average Hive user.

Everyone who creates an account for the game and completes a 10$ transaction automatically gets rewarded with an Hive account. However at the time (November 2021) I could hardly grasp what the platform exactly was.

It was honestly a bit of a maze between sites such as PeakD, hive.blog, 3speak, ecency and many others and without external guidance it took me a while to understand the potentiality of this system.. the DOs and DON'Ts and so on.

I've recently started taking the blogging side of Hive more seriously and I have to thank @ninaeatshere from the c/Worldmappin community for taking me under her wing and devoting some time to help me. She suggested me some very useful guides about formatting and other important aspects of blogging. 😉

My interests

I'm very interested in storytelling in all its forms. From books, to movies and TV series and other such things.

For this reason, most of my posts here will be made in communities such as c/Hivebookclub and c/cinetv. If you can think of more places that would cater to my tastes feel free to suggest them in the comments, I would highly appreciate it!

I've already made a couple of blog posts about books and you can find them here and here.
I'm planning to write more of these, in due time.

Generally, I prefer fiction and stories grounded in reality but I will read a bit of everything if it sounds interesting to me.

I think fiction has a great calming power, making us forget who we are for a little while and allows us to relish in some escapism and relaxation while still providing important lessons.

While exploring Hive a bit on my own I also discovered the c/Worldmappin community.
There are some breath taking images there of places visited by Hive users from all over the world.

It's tough to match the energy and quality of the best posts from that community but I'm definetely looking to share some of my own adventures and favorite locations. I already made a humble contribution with this post and more will come in the future.

In the past I've also tried gardening, it is an amazing and productive hobby.
Sadly I'm not sure I will be able to do much of it this year but in the past I've grown tomatoes as well as some herbs such as basil 🤙 🌱

I know there's some communities based around gardening and a plant-based lifestyle and even though I won't contribute much to them personally I'd still love to see what others can achieve with their green thumbs

Generally I like to walk when I have the chance, I'm lucky to live in an area where I can choose between several different spots.

I know of the c/Actifit community and app, I've tried it in the past but it seemed a bit clunky in the way it would work to count the steps and ultimately it was a bit too annoying for my taste to write a detail report each day so I'd rather just walk without having to micromanage all of that and just enjoy the physical activity. But if there's some people in the know that might have some feedback on this I might give it a second try.

La mia esperienza con Hive

Ho scoperto la piattaforma Hive attraverso il gioco Splinterlands, quindi forse un percorso bizzarro rispetto a quella dell'utente standard.

Praticamente a chiunque paghi 10$ viene assegnato automaticamente un account di Hive.
Tuttavia al tempo (parliamo di Novembre 2021) non capivo ancora molto bene cosa fosse questa piattaforma.

Sinceramente era tutto abbastanza confusionale. Trovavo risorse che riguardavano siti come PeakD, hive.blog, 3speak, ecency ed altri ancora. Senza un po' di aiuto mi ci è voluto parecchio tempo per capire cosa fosse esattamente questa piattaforma e le sue potenzialità.. come anche tutte le cose da fare e da evitare.

Recentemente ho iniziato a considerare più seriamente l'aspetto della creazione di blog post qui su Hive e devo calorosamente ringraziare @ninaeatshere della community di c/Worldmappin per avermi preso, per così dire, sotto la sua ala e sforzarsi ad aiutarmi. Mi ha lasciato diverse guide e risorse interessanti per quanto rigurda la formattazione dei post ed altri aspetti importanti per creare contenuti. 😉

I miei interessi

Sono particolarmente interessato ai libri, film e serie TV. In particolare apprezzo il loro aspetto di intrattenimento.

Perciò molti dei post che farò saranno relativi a community come c/Hivebookclub oppure c/cinetv.
Se conoscete altre community che potrebbero combaciare con i miei gusti personali siete liberi di commentare e farmi sapere. Lo apprezzerei molto!

Ho già scritto un paio di recensioni di libri, le potete trovare qui e in quest altro post.
Voglio decisamente scriverne ancora, non appena ne avrò l'occasione.

Generalmente preferisco la narrativa, ed in particolare storie più o meno realistiche, ma sono disposto a leggere un po' di tutto fintanto che mi sembri interessante.

Credo che la narrativa abbia un potente effetto calmante, facendoci dimenticare per un po' le preoccupazioni delle nostre vite, e permetta di rilassarci senza farci però comunque mancare nozioni ed idee interessanti.

Avendo esplorato un po' Hive per conto mio ho trovato la community di c/Worldmappin.
Spesso lì si vedono immagini mozzafiato di posti incredibili visitati dagli utenti Hive di tutto il mondo.

Non è sicuramente facile stare al passo con contenuti così interessanti e ben curati ma nonostante ciò cercherò nel futuro di scrivere anche io qualche post dove metterò in evidenza i miei luoghi preferiti e le mie escursioni. In effetti, ho già scritto un piccolo post al riguardo e lo potete trovare qui ma non sarà sicuramente l'ultimo.

In passato mi sono anche interessato di giardinaggio, è un'attività produttiva e particolarmente soddisfacente.
Purtroppo non credo che avrò molte possibilità di dedicarmi al giardinaggio quest anno ma in passato ho fatto crescere da zero piante di pomodori piuttosto che basilico ed altre erbe. 🤙 🌱

So che ci sono alcune community legate a questo hobby e più in generale a stili di vita come quello vegetariano e vegano. Sebbene è difficile che io scriva specifici post al riguardo sono comunque ambiti di mio interesse e mi piacerebbe interagire un po' con altri utenti dal pollice verde.

Inoltre mi piace molto camminare quando ne ho il tempo e sono fortunato a trovarmi in una zona (il Piemonte 😉) dove ho l'imbarazzo della scelta per quanto riguarda escursioni e passeggiate nella natura.

Tempo fa ho trovato la community di c/Actifit e la loro app. L'ho provata ma devo dire di averla trovata un po' scomoda da usare e non sempre i passi venivano conteggiati correttamente. Purtroppo credo che sia troppo tedioso scrivere un post anche solo minimamente curato ogni volta che vado a camminare e quindi ho lasciato perdere il progetto. Preferisco godermi in santa pace il mio momento di attività fisica, sinceramente, senza dover pensare ad Hive nel frattempo.
Tuttavia se doveste avere dei suggerimenti al riguardo potrei provare nuovamente a postare i miei report delle camminate.
