My First Splinterlands proposal Vote

It is a good Monday afternoon. I am positive about the new week already and I am happy to be a part of this social network of creative and supportive people.

Today, I discovered that beyond staking your SPS token and earning some more. The staked SPS can also be used for decision making in the splinterlands ecosystem. It works just like your Hive power is used to support hive witnesses. For Splinterlands, the Staked SPS enables you to vote in support or against the changes proposed in the community. It is called proposal voting. The SPS proposal can be accessed through this link: https://splinterlands.com/?p=sps_management&tab=proposals

Here is a guide on how to stake your SPS. It is simplified for any newbie to understand. I wrote out of my personal experience too.

With my 100 SPS staked, I decided to try out making my first proposal voting. I am happy that despite my tiny SPS staked, I also have the authority to decide what happens within the system. That means, I am an owner to some extent.

I met two proposals active. They are:

1. Begin SPS Reward Payouts for Land Holders #8 - Details in this link
2. Begin SPS Reward Payouts for Tower Defense Pack Holders #9 - Details in this link

Out of the two proposals, Proposal #8 has already been approved. You can see the tick on the green radar above. That means more SPS stakeholders have voted in support. As for Proposal #9, it is yet to be approved. There is still room for voting.

My interest is in Proposal #9. It is about Tower Defense. At least I have a little understanding about it since I was here when the presale happened. The proposal is to approve 1M SPS per month from the team pool to a reward pool for the new tower defense game that is currently being developed. It means that players with Tower defense pack will be able to earn extra SPS for their investment.

The voting procedure is just simple. You hit the upvote-like button and then insert your active key or use your keychain to approve the transaction.
