Newbie Guide: Easy Ways to Earn $GLX Token

A new Hive user asked me to explain what GLX is all about and how she can also earn in a lay man's language since according to her, she cannot understand the big terminologies she find in some posts. I could relate well with her situation because sometimes ago, I was there. I am still learning a lot of things and will continue learning. This is the inspiration for this post titled Easy Ways to Earn $GLX Token.

The audience for this post are Hive newbies and those that are new to the Splinterlands ecosystem and/or Genesis league sports environment. Hive Blockchain now plays host to a sports gaming platform known as Genesis League Sports (GLS). Thanks to the Splinterlands creators for this new addition. GLS has been running on the Hive for the past 2 months and I am happy to be actively engaging activities on the platform

The GLS platform is created to help hive users to earn more money for being involved in sports either as a player or a supporter. This is made possible by sports games being created on GLS and card NFTs mirroring a player's skills and abilities would be created and traded by GLS players. GLG - Genesis League Goals is the first sport game featured in Genesis League Sports platform.

Ahead of such creation, the splinterlands team designed the GLX token to serve as reward token for the games as well as governance token for GLS platform so that players can participate in decision making in the game with their votes.

In the meantime, GLS players are can earn GLX tokens in few ways as I discuss below:

1. By Staking SPS
2. By Staking GLX
3. By staking GLG card packs.

1. Stake SPS

I will always every newbie to start here. I personally started here. This is because SPS is the governance toke of the entire splinterlands community of games. Staking SPS means locking up your SPS for a period of time in the Splinterlands in-game wallet. As long as the amount of token remains locked, you cannot trade it. rather, the system will be giving you tiny proportions of SPS as a reward for staking the token.

I started with a stake of 50 SPS and the second time, I staked another 50 to give me a sum of 100 SPS staked, that wasn't enough, I staked another 70 on top of the 100 staked to give me 170 SPS. I would have staked more if not for other investments.

The 170 SPS I have staked makes me to receive around 0.1 SPS everyday and that would continue for 1 year. The more SPS staked, the more it yields fraction of SPS tokens.

Each GLX is around 2 Cents. 1 Hive can give you approximately 11 SPS. The profit as stated on the website is 24.2% yearly.

2. Stake GLX:

This is the prettiest way of earning GLX. Staking GLX means to lock your GLX in the Genesis league Sports wallet. DOing that makes you receive some smaller proportions GLX and GLGT tokens every minute, depending on the amount of GLX you stake.

Above is a screenshot of my GLX wallet where I've staked 401.7 GLX token. That amount staked makes me to receive around 4 GLX everyday. You can see the 12.5 GLX as reward not yet claimed. As I begin this new year, I will monitor better how much my GLX staked earns.

Each GLX token is cheap. 1 Hive can get you about 8 GLX now. That is really cheap to buy. Some good mathematicians say the profit of staking GLX is up to 500% yearly. That means you can recover 5 times your initial capital after a year of investment.

Great job for splinterlands team for creating this idea. I believe within the shortest period of time, this gaming platform would be engaged by many.
