Weekly Battle

This is my entry for the Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenges. This week's theme is Dragons!

And here's what my lineup looked like:

The ruleset for this match included Equalizer which is actually why I opted to use low mana-cost cards that all had low health as well. When this ruleset is in place, I tend to just rely on my opponent to pick the high health card. Unfortunately, they also picked very low health cards so we all ended up with just 3 health per card. Oh well!

I opted to use the Dragon summoner Brighton Bloom for a couple of reasons.

First, I love the flying ability. The dodge is extremely underrated in my opinion. Secondly, I wanted to play the Serpentine Mystic card.

This card doesn't have the best stats, but that Affliction ability can be game-winning against cards with heal. Of course your opponent won't always play cards with heal (such as in this battle), but still. For 3 mana, it's still a decent card to use.

My combination of the creeping ooze reducing speed, as well as the flying ability that Brighton Bloom gave all of my cards served as the difference maker in this match for me. I counted a total of three dodges that my cards made. And in such a low health-cost battle, that was definitely the difference as I barely managed to eke out a victory when it seemed that his high damage output might just completely wreck my cards early on.

All in all, I was honestly pretty surprised to have still won this battle. But the flying ability gave me just enough luck to dodge my opponents attacks to narrowly come out on top.
