Account Update December

Hey guys,

I haven't really posted in the last couple of weeks, mostly because I don't have the time and I just don't enjoy playing Splinterlands enough to make time at the moment. That being said I rented out my entire collection and staked everything I have to more or less automate my account.

In this post I'll give you a brief update of how that looks as well as it's up and downsides.

Rentals

I'm still using Splinterrents, which is a rental bot service that rents out your cards and adapts to rental prices automatically while draining very little RC. It's run via Discord and charges 5% on your daily rental income, which you have to per once a week.

I've been using it on my alt account for almost two month and I'm more than happy with the service.

Main Account

My main account usually generates around 20% yearly ROA depending on the day of the season. In the beginning it's usually a bit lower and towards the end of the season it ramps up to somewhere close to 50%.

Alt Account

This account was initially set up as my rental account and I would send copies I didn't use or wanted to keep as an investment for the future to it. It therefore has very little worth dollar wise, but for some reason it generates a higher yearly ROA than my main account.

While this is just a little DEC and nothing life changing, it is passive income that I don't have to do anything for, but pay my fees once a week which takes like 10 seconds.

Staking

SPS

I'm staking all my SPS, because the APR is quit good and there's no real use case for it at the moment. I always start the unstaking process however, so that if I need liquid SPS i don't have to wait the full 4 weeks.

While it says that the APR is 23.75% on the Splinterlands page, it is actually much higher, because of ongoing GLX airdrop.

I'm also staking all my GLX, because the APR is still insane. While it does go down very fast and the price of the coin is dropping rapidly I decided to hodl until we actually have a use case for it.

Market Transaction

I got really lucky with the Possibilus the Wise airdrop and pulled a gold foil with only 261 Chaos Legion packs eligible. I sold it on the first day for about $135.

I'm regularly checking card prices and looking for upgrades to my deck, but because I'm not playing at the moment I decided not to buy any cards.

I did however buy 100 Chaos Legion packs from Hive Engine for roughly $132 and opened them, because I had 500 potions of each sort left and wanted to put them to use. With the expected value of a pack being slightly higher than what I bought them for on hive, I'm expected to turn a profit of around $16.

I would like to continue doing that, but unfortunately I don't have any potions left and since I'm not playing the game and earning rewards I'm not getting any new ones.

Future Plans

Like I said I'm regularly checking card prices to see if I can upgrade my deck, but for now I'm probably going to hold on to my DEC and wait for it to go back to peg. With land hopefully being released some time in Q1 next year and some more information about what we need for it and what it does I might need some DEC to spend on it.

Otherwise I'm also thinking about purchasing another Plot - I currently hold 2.
