Update on my brand new account after 6 weeks
Hey everyone,
about 6 weeks ago, when the ranked reward changes were announced, I wrote a Post about how I'd be starting a brand new account. I went over how much I invested, which cards I bought and what I was going to rent in addition.
A little later ranked reward changes went live and here we are. In this post I want to go over how my new account did since I started it and how I'm planning on managing it going forward. Especially since there'll be coming more changes to ranked rewards.
Earnings
To track my earnings I went over to PeakMonsters, clicked on my username in the top right corner, then "My Explorer", checked the "Rewards" box and manually added together the total amount of rewards worth in dollar per day. There's probably a better way to do this, but I'm stupid and like to have extra work.
That comes up to a total of: $9,23
However, PeakMonsters only displays data back to the 11th of June. Since the new ranked rewards started on June 1st, there's essentially 10 days of rewards I didn't incorporate. To figure out how much I got in that time I divided 9,239 by 30 to get an average per day and multiplied that by 10, which is $3,07.
Total earnings from the past 3 seasons: $12,39
I actually didn't include the end of season rewards that I'll be getting today, because I can't claim them yet, but those will increase this number even more.
Spendings
Like I said in the first post, I wanted to rent a couple of cards depending on my daily focus. And I did just that. The cards I bought actually didn't help all that much as I always rented a few very strong cards for a certain splinter/strategy to get 10 to 15 chests a day.

The cards I bought have decreased in value by a bit as everything has gone down.
I spent $21 on cards and Spellbook
The cards are worth $9,91
I made $12,39 in rewards
Total account value: $22,21
After only 6 weeks I am in a profit. This is mind blowing to me and it actually didn't feel like it. Most of the time I got average rewards with lots of potions and small DEC amounts. No packs, no gold foil epics or legendaries. I pulled one legendary I think.
Future Plans
With the follow up on the ranked rewards going live with the coming season, I think the days of just renting for one splinter and spamming that one might be over. They said your daily splinter won't be guaranteed to be available in every game anymore and new focuses like Sneak, Snipe or Opportunity will make it more difficult to just rent for one splinter.
This is where card ownership will come in handy and I think my account will profit from it, as I bought almost all the Chaos Legion starter cards. That being said I think this account is in a great place to keep earning with the upcoming changes and I'm looking forward to it.
For all the new players out there, I think this is a great time to start buying cards and building your deck. Prices have been relatively stable around the 5,5k set value mark and while they might go lower in the future, once the SPS Airdrop is over and holding packs doesn't benefit you other than from an investment point of view for future flipping, I think the prices right now are very reasonable and affordable.
