SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! Dragons! Presented to you by Pix21
Hello everyone,
It is the weekends again and following the theme of the week which is all about Dragons, I will present to you my battle challenge. I really love dragon decks as I can mix and match them with various other splinters. Basically dragons are like the Swiss Army Knifes of Splinterlands.
Edition: ANY
Rarity: ANY
Element: DRAGON
Attack: ANY
Abilities: ANY (you name it, dragons have it!)
Putting the Whelp here since the Whelp is the cutest dragon!! IMO
Let's move on to the battle, the ruleset for my battle was Up Close and Personal with 46 Mana Cap which is quite sufficient for many heavy hitters
Since it's all Melee, my plan would be to use a combination of melee attackers with various abilities to enable it to attack from outside the first position, and monsters to weaken the enemy melee attacks, and also to include thorns.
Positioning and Choice of Monsters
Summoner:
Daria Dragonscale
As my lineup is melee intensive, this would be great to give that extra damage boost.
Djinn Chwala in First Position:
This is one of the best dragon tanks as it has thorns. Usually the first position monster will have melee so the Djinn Chwala is always a good choice. Another thing that I like is that this monster has high armor and without the threat of magic attacks, this is certainly one of the best tanks to put up front.
Luminous Eagle in 2nd Position:
The Eagle has reach and with it's flying ability, this gives it higher chances to evade if my Djinn were to be killed
War Chaang in 3rd Position:
This monster have high health and retaliate, so it has a high chance of attacking twice. While in the backline, it can still use it's ranged attacks.
Dragon Jumper in 4th Position:
Excellent monster with opportunity and high attack. Also dragon jumper has flying and good speed, so rarely have I ever seen it miss.
Silvershield Knight in 5th Position:
The knight is positioned to protect my backline from sneak attacks and boost all my monster attacks by 1. So in total with Daria and the Knight, all of my monsters have additional 2 attacks.
Disintegrator in 6th Position (last):
This a new monster from the Chaos Legion series, it is very useful as it has "Demoralize" and it has armor and attacks. This is quite similar to warrior of peace. I decided to try this monster out in the last position to protect my knight and also this can be a final tank if all defenses are taken down.
Round 1:
The opponent does not have too many attackers active in the first round, only the battering ram, and the sand worm, and of course the mycelic infantry will be attacking. The vigilator will also be attacking with its ranged attack which unfortunately will not be affected by my thorns. It would have been quite bad if I used sneak monster but thankfully I do not have sneak monsters that will be taking the thorns from the Djinn he placed at the back.
In the first round, my dragon jumper killed the battering ram in a single blow. Although the opponent is using Daria too, Daria's effect is negated by my "Demoralize". My backline survived the attack from the sand worm thanks to the armor, while the Mycelic Infanry loses its armor thanks to the attack from my eagle. My War Chaang is not able to do anything due to the "Shield" ability on Mycelic. Nevertheless at the end of round 1, the opponent tank is badly injured with only 3 health remaining.
Round 2:
In the 2nd round, seeing that the Mycelic Infantry is bleeding badly, the opportunistic Dragon Jumper lands the killing blow. The vigilator continues attacking my Djinn with its double hits, but the hefty armor prevents much damage to it's high health points. The flesh golem is relentlessly attacked by my War Chaang, Luminous Eagle, and by the Djinn direct hit and thorns. Even with the healing from the flesh golem, it could not survive my heavy attacks in this round.
However the 5 melee attack from the Sand Worm (now the tank) greatly damages my Djinn Chwala leaving it in a near death state. Victory however is well in sight as none of my monsters are killed.
Round 3:
In the 3rd round, the enemy only has 3 monsters left, and once again the opportunistic dragon jumper lands the killing blow on the Sand Worm. Sadly the Djinn could not survive the attack from the vigilator and perished, but nevertheless, before dying, a final thorns to take 2 health out of the vigilator. The combined attacks from the Luminous Eagle and the War Chaang takes down the vigilator's remaining health.
At the end of the round, the opponent's Djinn (lone tank) greatly damaged the Luminous Eagle.
Round 4:
In round 4, my dragon jumper removed the armor from Djinn, taking some slight damage in return. The luminous eagle was killed after attacking Djinn due to the thorns. However at this stage, the opponent's Djinn Chwala is close to be killed.
With the War Chaang now as the tank, the Djinn attacked the War Chaang and this triggers a retaliate attack which successfully kills the Djinn, earning the final victory.
Victory:
What do I like about Dragons most:
They are nasty, they are strong, they are flexible
What I do not like?
Actually none, they are very versatile as their deck incorporates all sorts of splinters
I have not posted much on the daily rewards quests mainly because I haven't been getting any great loots. Do follow me and I try to post more exciting battles in future if time permits. So far my journey in Splinterlands have been filled with ups and downs, hopefully with the launch of Chaos Legion general sales, there will be more opportunity for new players like me to grow more with the games.

Thanks for the PIZZA! Yes, and on the other hand, I am afraid of Mylors with heals.

Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 27/87) Liquid rewards.
Appreciate it!
Dragon splinter is awesome! I usually go for it when mana is on the higher side. While I don't have a Daria I do have a Kitty :)
I used to rent a Kitty once, they are also pretty awesome especially with the heals and + 2 speed. Dodging attacks like crazy :)
Exactly! Kitty + Kron works pretty well, but there are other combos, too. Of course, you'll need a high mana battle.
Will be interesting to see Giant Killer in action against Kron. I think the new legendary neutral is quite a Kron counter.
