Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets - Back to Basics

Hi splinterlands community, this is my entry to the battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I use my account playmaker1 to play splinterlands. The ruleset for this week's challenge is "back to basics".

Ruleset and Its Meaning

The back to basics ruleset implies that monsters lose all their abilities. This means that aside the summoner buffs and debuffs, the cards only attack as they appear.

Summoner and Team Choices

I selected this earth summoner which allowed me to see my enemy's team before the battle began. Instead of using the poison, I used the +2 melee on my first and second cards.

My enemy selected this water summoner which allowed him to use +1 shield and +1 speed on all his cards.

Round 1

---

The battle didn't go as I wanted. At the beginning of the battle, my first card was attacked by my enemy's third and fifth cards. I thought it would go my way after I killed my enemy's first card. My enemy kept attacking and killed my first card. My second card became my first and killed my enemy's second card who became first.

Round 2

---

I attacked my enemy and my enemy attacked me too. None of our cards were killed but the health of my Grund card was greatly reduced to 2.

Round 3

---

At the beginning of round 3 my enemy's card Djinn Oshanus killed my Grund card leaving me with only 2 cards. My card Mycelic Slipspawn became my first card and my Regal Peryton card became the second.

My enemy's new third card attacked my first card and my second card attacked my enemy's first card with an attack of 1 magic. My enemy's second and last attacked my card next reducing the health to 4. My first card attacked last in round 3 reducing the health of my enemy's first card to 2.

Round 4

My card Mycelic Slipspawn was killed at the beginning of the new round. I attacked next, my enemy's last card attacked my remaining card and reduced the health to 1.

Round 5

My enemy's first card Djinn Oshanus killed my remaining card Regal Peryton.

I lost the battle in the 5th round.
