Greetings friends, happy new year. I have not been in the crypto space for long and joining the just ended hive zealy campaign made that very clear. Taking part in the crypto spaces taught me a lot of things about the crypto space. I heard a lot about crypto games and one of the games that always stood out was splinterlands.

Splinterlands is one of the most played hive games and having seen my hive friends play since I joined, I decided I would also play the game. After the campaign ended and I got my rewards for finishing in top 100, I decided that would be the best use of the rewards received from the splinterlands and the leo team.

Less than a week ago, I transferred 500 SPS and staked it in game because fortunately I have a friend @yahuzah who plays and he told me if I wanted to get rewards from the game, I would have to stake some SPS. I also purchased the spell book worth 10 HBD.

As a beginner, I will be sharing some tips as my entry to the splinterlands social media challenge. I have not played for even a week but what I will share is what I learnt from submissions from spl speakers in X spaces, blog posts I have read and tips from my friends.

Splinterlands is a card game where as a player, you choose cards from your collection to battle with other players. Different battles have their own rules which must be obeyed from players if they want to win. What I realized when I signed up was that I was in the novice stage. The novice stage from what I see is like a trial run. In the novice stage there are no rules which implies as a player you use this stage to master the elements; earth, water, fire, life, dragon and death.

When you advance from the novice stage, you go into the bronze stage. Broze III is the rewards for mastering the elements and it is in this stage you can start earning. A tip I would offer is that as a new player, take your time to understand the cards at your disposal when in the novice. There is no punishment for losing battles in this stage and so it is important you learn which cards are good for you.

Another tip I have for my fellow new players is to get some card delegations. If like me you cannot afford to purchase cards when you start, ask for a card delegation. These will help you to play, win more battles and earn. The reason delegations are good is that using the cards the spell book gives you access to won’t allow you to earn a lot of points. The cards you get from the spell book are limited.

It is also good to ask questions. If you do not have friends you can ask, watch youtube videos. You can find videos on the splinterlands website as well as reading materials. You will learn about the rule sets, card abilities and more when you ask question and your own research.

These are a few tips I can give out. Anyone who has some more should please share with me.

Thank you.
