Is now an opportune time to hop on Splinterlands?

With DEC stabilizing to $0.005 due to a lot of factors this December, now would be a promising time for people to jump in and actually play Splinterlands IMO.

The falling of the price to $0.005 is quite a huge blow to all current players making it a %50 cut to the value of all the items they own in the game and earnings through ranked winnings. Newcomers can instead look at this as an opportunity to get started as more and more cards will be sold/rented at a cheaper price making you have a better collection than most who started 2-3 months ago.

There is also a great possibility of DEC rising back to $0.01 in price compared to the spike in the height of October making your investment double with a release of a new mini-set after Chaos but that would be in a few more months at the latest.

SPS is generally tied to how well DEC is going and vice versa, as the event of having daily airdrops for a whole year is still ongoing it is still beneficial if you can invest a larger amount in either buying a good collection (renting doesn't add to this) or just investing a large amount of DEC to gain additional benefits through additional daily SPS.

With how DEC is priced at the moment you only need to cash in at least $10 ((60x30)x DEC Pricing) to stay in Silver 1 for a month which can add a lot of benefits that include actually earning DEC instead of Credits, Getting to open an additional chest each day with more chests at the end of the season, having a lower chance to get potions. All these benefits can outweigh your initial investment and can even give you a hefty net profit given that you consistently play once a day and complete your dailies.

Final Thoughts

Even with the falling of these Tokens prices it is still an investment of your cash so at least keep in mind that the money you have put in, you can live without.
