Countering the Overabused Water Meta in Bronze

For all the new players who just bought the summoners spellbook, a lot of the new guides are telling you to use the water deck because it'll help you get to Bronze 1 easily! That's because for a small rental fee (around 4-7 dec) you can easily earn way more thanks to this wonderful new reward card, the Venari Wavesmith!

As a lot of people are currently overusing the Water decks (With a venari wavesmith), more people are finding it hard to counter. I've seen several people complain about it in the past how it's a super unbalanced card and you need to rent more cards just to beat it. Don't worry! I got you fam!

There are several ways you can go around countering it that i will explain to the best of my abilities.

Note these matchups will not include rental of any cards but will only contain starter cards.

1. The Mirror Fight! Fighting water with water!

Simply put tanks in the front and use magic to fight it!

Place as much magic users as you can to capitalize on the Summoner's +1 magic attack. Then make sure you have a good tank. Normally the spineback turtle and albatross are pretty good tanks for around 4+1 mana. The goal of this strategy is just to put as much buffer as you can from the enemy's magic attack.

2. Strip that Armor with the Power of Earth!

Bring in the Wizard of Eastwood Summoner with the -2 Armor and slap a Unicorn Mustang and you're all set to take on the magic. Bring in some sneaks and snipes and you're sure to take their magic damagers out early and secure the W!

3. For the Life of us Heal!

Using the life deck, bring in Mother Khala, the clay golem, and the divine healer and you're good to go! Add on attackers at the back and you should be able to defend yourself long enough for your attackers to plow through via sneak or snipe. It's up to you!

These three in my experience have the highest win rates among the basic starter sets. They're an easy counter to the overly abused Venari Wavesmith. Do note that these strategies stop working versus those who actually rent cards. They will have an edge over you but if you play your cards right you can still win!
