Farming Silver on a Budget!

In a previous article I discussed the new water meta, but there were some things lacking that I hope to add. You can check out the previous article here. The main glaring issue is that I didn't really discuss it in-depth, so here I am with this article, and remember this is during a low DEC reward pool!
The Cards

These are all the cards you will need to win. If the enemy knows your strategy, your chances of winning decrease, but in ranked battle, you're just trying to win more than you lose.
The Cost

This is the cheapest deck I've ever encountered to go all the way up to Silver 1! It certainly helps that a lot of players have stopped playing due to the price of DEC, so there's less competition.
Why Farm with Gold Cards

I hope the image is enough to show you how important it is to farm with gold cards. I get at the very minimum a 70% increase in DEC reward.
The Strategy
The main strategy is to go via sneak or opportunity. Try and put in the ooze as often as you can so that you can go first. Remember, speed is everything. Then place as much sneak as you can. Choose between Demented Shark or River Hellondale but if you can, put both in! Demented Shark can be your tank, or you can use Sea Monster. For high mana fights, bring in Sand Worm! The Dwarven Wizard and Doctor Blight are actually there for use in the other decks as well as for their collection power. If use water, there's no need for them.
Depending on the game modes, the water deck has something for everything! Here are some examples.
- Poison: Bring in a River Nymph (from starter deck)
- Up Close & Personal: Your team is already mostly melee, so this will be easy!
- Rise of the Commons: You won't be able to use River Hellondale but +1 attack from Demented Shark will still hurt a lot.
- Fog of War: Focus on bringing monsters with opportunity attack, even if they're not Gold Foils (because they're from the starter decks)
- No Melee: Okay, for this I admit that it might be difficult. So my suggestion is to use the earth deck!

No Water? No Problem
Don't surrender just yet! The playable starter cards are actually pretty good. They can even win even as level 1, and chances are the opponent you're going to face is also holding level 1 units. This is silver after all! Check out this match where I'm facing levelled cards.

I won this match because Unicorn Mustang is a solid tank. Coupled with the Goblin Psychic, you have a tank that can take a lot of punishment. The taunt from the Mycelic Slipspawn also came in handy to redirect the damage of the enemy. It's all about countering your opponents to the best of your ability.
Hope this helps you improve your DEC farming game!
