GLG Marketplace - Hunting for bargain (with success)
I didn't plan to sell most of my cards for a while, however I wanted to purchase some of the missing ones before game launch. So I started to look around today. It's a worth to share.
Well, I was really surprised! I sat down in the morning, decided to check all my cards, prices and select that 10-20 / type, what I want to hold and start to list for sell the rest, at least those, what are 100% don't want to use for the gameplay (because of bad stats or I got even better ones or I want to collect more from a different one for future combining).
Few hours ago, the marketplace had nearly $2,000 volume, when I started to write it, the 24h volume was $2,762. Nice one from a game what is not even running yet.

What is behind that? Obviously, similar thinking like mine, probably some people prefer to buy the exact player cards without pack buying and opening. (That could be a good solution, too,
after seeing the prices.) And of course, the traders, speculators are there, too.
I started with the defenders, before I finished listing the unnecessary players, I've already received more than 10 bucks from selling... well... okay! :)

Keep in mind, that I want to have 3-5 cards from the choosen players for future upgradings by training (staking the cards) and combining. I think, it will be important, but at least worthy to keep the team(s) together from the beginning, because of the synergy system:
https://whitepaper-goals.genesisleaguesports.com/cards/synergy-system
At the moment I had just 8-10 type of cards, where I hold at least 3 cards.
So started the bargain hunting, next to the listing of the cards. I start with the common cards, I've found similar bargain ones, like this. (The cheapest listing is $0.25, so I can't lose anything.)

Just to compare, this fellah has the same defensive stat, and the rest is even worse:

I bought few more defensive players, from the non-foil version, now I have 6 players with at least 3 cards.
The midfielders:
I already had enough good ones, so it was mostly selling. I think, these 2 guys will be useful:

So I could even sell relatively good basic stat players, like these 2:

Attackers:
I was also looking for some extra value, I think Mr. Campana can be a good pick for combining in the non-foil forward category. Cost only $0.50 + I had another 3 cards. (The forwards are basically the epic cards, so I think, it was a cheap one, too.) I also sold plenty attackers.

Goalkeepers:
The legendary cards. I've found the biggest bargain here in the non-foil category.
I bought 5 Pantemis for $1,00. This guy has the 4th best stat within the goalkeepers.

So I sorted out more than half of the non-foil team.
Coaches:
The Splinterlands Summoners equivalent. Or at least, something like that. It is hard to say, how will be the value of these cards, what is sure: you need at least 1 to play the game. So I suppose $2,00 for a coach card is bargain. I also sold few for 4-5 dollars, and in the future, I won't sell any under that price + I already have 2 coaches with 3 cards.

The gold foil versions:
Well... :) :) :) Here, I've found the best bargains. Like this fellah (an epic gold foil forward card, definitely worth $5.00 with this stat):

Also one of the best goalkeeper for $6,00:

So from the most valuable player cards (goalkeepers) I have 6 with a nice selection, including the best one:

Well, I have no idea why someone sells good stat legendary cards for 6 bucks, before the game starts, but thank you, I take it.
The rarest and best stat card is Maarten Paes. Opposing to real soccer world, where the attackers are the most expensive, here the goalkeeper cards are the rarest, so they will be the most valuable ones.
I don't know how much they worth, especially the best one, anyway, I listed it for $175. I am sure it will worth this much 1-2 years later. At the moment, I still think it worth at least $100. We will see at the game start.
Final thoughts:
I am just finishing this post, and within few hours, I could manage to sell around $100 and buy for $60. I sold just 2 really good non-foil cards, the rest were bad and medium stat cards and next to that, I could buy really valuable cards for very cheap. And I am not the one who opened 100s of packs, I opened 100 packs, and way over half of the cards I don't want to touch/sell for a while.

Once again, I really don't understand why people sell those gold foil cards (and some non-foils too) so cheap before game launch, but I don't care, just take it. I earnt today $40 and made my future non-foil and gold foil team much stronger, partly ready for combining.
So whatever strategy you choose, based on my experience, it is worthy to check the market time by time both for sell and buy purpose even before the game starts.
Have a nice day!
