"My shield is here for you!" - Braum

Greetings! A card that shined brighter like a polished shield on a sunny day is what I will be showcasing for today's battle post. The card I am talking about is the Chaos Knight which is a Light common card from the Chaos Legion edition.

I will be talking about the strengths of this card and the team composition that I want to show to you all.

The Ruleset

The ruleset for this battle are Healed Out and Taking Sides. The first ruleset only restricts healing abilities from both Monsters and Summoners while the latter prevents players to use Neutral monsters for this battle. The ruleset doesn't affect much in this battle but this tells me that I can use my Life deck which is my staple splinter.

Team Composition

Here is my team composition for this battle, and I didn't think of countering magic for my opponent as the mana seems lacking for a full magic team with Earth so I stick ahead in pulling a Sneak Melee play. I'll break the team comp down as to the reason for these particular cards and the placement.

Chaos Knight (Lvl 5)

  • Mana Cost: 6
  • Damage: 3 Melee
  • Health: 5 HP
  • Shield: 3
  • Speed: 3
  • Abilities: Shield and Giant Killer

The main star of the show. This card is a great tank for mid-mana battles and can sustain Melee and Ranged damages given the Shield ability which reduces the Melee and Ranged damages received by half of the damage. Alongside, the Giant Killer ability deals more damage to monsters that are 10 mana or higher, that with the video below you'll see how this ability changes big time with the flow of battle.

Time Meddler (Lvl 3)

  • Mana Cost: 8
  • Damage: 2 Magic
  • Health: 7 HP
  • Shield: 4
  • Speed: 3
  • Abilities: Dodge

The Time Meddler is a great secondary tank given its high health and decent shield stats, and having the Dodge ability gives more chances to miss a Melee or Ranged attack from the enemy. Since my enemy focuses more on Melee and Ranged attacks so the Dodge ability will be pretty useful as long as I have luck on my side.

Stitch Leech (Lvl 5)

  • Mana Cost: 3
  • Damage: 3 Melee
  • Health: 4 HP
  • Speed: 2
  • Abilities: Sneak

Stitch Leech at this level gets 3 Melee damage which is great to hit some weak backlines of the enemy. Although, the speed might be slow for my taste I do appreciate the offensive stats that this card brings.

Celestial Harpy (Lvl 3)

  • Mana Cost: 2
  • Damage: 2 Melee
  • Health: 3
  • Speed: 2
  • Abilities: Flying and Opportunity

This card is one of my favorite low mana cards to use which brings a decent amount of damage with great abilities. Having the Opportunity ability, she will be able to snipe down low HP cards positioned anywhere on the team. I normally use this along with Sneak cards to be able to take down the backline easier. Furthermore, the Flying ability is great for Earthquake rulesets too.

Dumacke Exile (Lvl 1)

  • Mana Cost: 6
  • Damage: 2 Melee
  • Health: 5
  • Shield: 1
  • Speed: 4
  • Abilities: Sneak

This card I normally place in the backline to take in an extra Sneak attack with the shield and deal decent amounts of damage with great speed of 4. If I were having a mid to high mana battles for a Sneak play, this is definitely a good card to use.

Soul Fiend (Lvl 1)

  • Mana Cost: 0
  • Damage: 1 Melee
  • Health: 1
  • Speed: 2

Fiends are totally great cards to have even at just level 1. I use this as a distraction for Opportunity monsters and also take in 1 extra damage from either the front or the back. So, I totally suggest getting at least one copy for the splinter that you normally use.
