My entry into the world of crypto and NFT games :The story so far...

avatar

So the story begins around a month ago when I decided to reactivate my account on Coinbase and put some cash into a few coins I had been reading about, nothing major just a few quid to see what happens and began to use some techniques such as EMA 12/26 trading to make some small gains, even though I was only making a pound or two at most I had the bug and wanted in!

I began to read more into the subject area and in particular about NFT's. This then led me to the discovery of NFT games, the first of which I tried was a game called gods unchained which is very much like magic the gathering but with the cards being NFT's instead of physical cards. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has ever enjoyed magic and at the weekend they hold tournaments where you have the chance to earn free NFT's, the gameplay itself is great but the market and some other aspects of the wider ecosystem still need work and so I found myself looking further and discovering Splinterlands!

What a gem this game is for someone who enjoys the trading aspect as well as the gameplay, although it does take a small investment to get started (around £30 for me with the Spellbook and some credits) I'm now finding myself making trades and gaining a couple of dollars a day in DEC which allow me to rent any cards I need and I've managed to hit bronze 2, have around 30 cards in my collection and 3k DEC saved all in a week! If you are a new player and wondering how to get into the game on a budget it can be done, sites such as monstermarket.com and splintercards.com are great for finding underpriced and upward trending cards and gold foil cards can be very cost effective for renting power, just keep at it and you will get there.

Through Splinterlands I discovered Hive and the ecosystem around it and so I find myself here writing my first ever blog post and it will actually reside on a blockchain itself and thinking what a wild month its been and bring on the next where some of the tasks I have set for myself are to attempt to build my own (successful) crypto trading program, hit the silver leagues in Splinterlands and discover more about this new world. Oh and maybe I'll write another update and let you know how I get on!

If you haven't tried Splinterlands yet and feel like trying it out use my referral code to get a free card on signup and purchase of the Spellbook:
