Battle Challenge - Ant Miners

Hello fellow adventurers. I hope you're all doing well. Today I'm going to share my Battle Challenge using the featured card for this week: Ant Miners.

Challenge Rules

ABILITIES: Scavenger at level 1

Mana Limit: 27
Standard Ruleset: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

Meet the Team

Summoner: Pyre

I decided to use Pyre in this battle because my opponent's last summoner was Malric. Whenever I'm anticipating a Fire Splinter mirror match, I usually use Pyre to take advantage of his Speed Boost buff allowing my monsters to strike first.

Tank: Living Lava

One of my main tank cards in a Fire Splinter lineup. Its Shield ability that reduces damage from Melee and Ranged attacks is extremely useful against a Fire Splinter mirror match composed mostly of monsters using melee attack.

Goblin Shaman

Since I'm relying on speed, my team is on a disadvantage when it comes to attack power. Goblin Shaman's Weaken ability that reduces the Health of all enemy Monsters balances this lack of power. I'm also using this card as a secondary tank just in case Living Lava dies before the battle ends.

Ant Miners

I'm placing Ant Miners in the 3rd slot to give it ample time to generate health while enemy monsters are dying. Hopefully it lasts till the last round to protect my damage dealers from attacks.

Serpentine Spy

One of my favorite cards in a Fire Splinter lineup. Although its low on health, its 2 melee attack and 3 speed compensates this. Pyre's Speed Boost further enhances its speed ensuring it can damage at least one enemy monster before dying.

Fire Elemental

Also one of my favorite cards in a Fire Splinter lineup. Its Blast ability that does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster usually kills low health monsters idling around its target. Its high speed of 5 means its one of the monsters that attacks first at the start of the round.

Cerberus

I'm using Cerberus as a backline damage absorber to protect my damage dealers long enough for them to clear my opponent's key cards. Its Heal ability that restores a portion of its health each round allows it to last longer in battle.

Unfortunately, my opponent chose Alric Stormbringer as his Summoner which adds +1 Magic Attack to all his monsters. Hopefully my tank will last long enough for my damage dealers to kill the enemy monsters whose using Magic Attack to prevent them from wiping out my team.

Thankfully Round 1 was in my favor. Serpentine Spy was able to kill one of my opponent's Magic damage dealers. This in turn added 1 health to Ant Miners who's patiently waiting for it's turn to strike.

By Round 2 both our tanks died but Serpentine Spy was able to kill another enemy Magic damage dealer. This boosted Ant Miners health to 5. He's now all buffed and ready to rumble.

Serpentine Spy once again killed the enemy Magic damage dealer on Round 3. Leaving one enemy ranged monster and one harmless tank that does not attack. The enemy tank will surely die on my damage dealers' next attack since its already down to 2 health.

Once again Serpentine Spy did its job of eliminating the enemy tank monster on Round 4. By the time Round 5 started, a harmless Ranged monster that can no longer attack since its on the 1st slot was left which meant a sure win to my team.

The Aftermath

Ant Miners did a great job of accumulating health while Serpentine Spy and Fire Elemental were eliminating enemy threats on the board. By the time its turn to act as a tank monster came, it already accumulated a large amount of health allowing my damage dealers to swiftly finish the game.

I haven't used Ant Miners before this Challenge started. But I think I'll start using it now that I saw its potential. With just 2 mana, you can get a big tank mid-battle as long as its well-positioned on the battle field.

This challenge was a lot of fun. I was not aware of Ant Miner's use until I tried using it for the first time. Till next time fellow adventurers. Have a great weekend!!!
