Share Your Battle Theme - Ant Miners

Hello everyone. How's your week going so far? Splinterlands has posted another Battle Challenge Theme. In this post I'm going to share with you one of my battles using our featured card for this week: Ant Miners.

Challenge Rules

THEME: ANT MINERS

Edition: REWARD
Rarity: COMMON
Element: FIRE
ATTACK: MELEE
ABILITIES: Scavenger at level 1

Battle Ruleset

Mana Limit: 18

Noxious Fumes: All monsters start the game poisoned and will take 2 damage each turn unless cleansed.

Lineup Strategy

The plan is to damage 2 enemies at once with the Blast ability of Fire Elemental and instantly kill an enemy monster to add more health to Ant Miners. Hopefully it survives until the last round to win this battle.

Summoner: Pyre

I used Pyre in this battle because I plan to hit first and take advantage of the poison damage placed on the monsters in the field by the current battle ruleset. His Speed Boost provides my damage dealer the edge of striking first at the beginning of the round.

Tank: Living Lava

This is one of my first picks as a tank when using a Fire Splinter lineup. In this particular battle, I'm planning to take advantage of its Shield ability that reduces damage from Melee and Ranged attacks. Its going to protect Ant Miners long enough for it to generate enough health to survive till the last round.

Ant Miners

The Star Player of our lineup, its Scavenger ability that Gains 1 max health each time any monster dies would be the huge advantage in this battle. Because of the poison damage, its almost certain that a monster will die each round boosting Ant Miners health as the battle progresses.

Fire Elemental

The damage dealer in this lineup. I plan to strike 2 monsters at once using its Blast ability that does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. By doing this, there's a huge possiblity that these 2 monsters will die immediately on the next round from poison damage adding health to Ant Miners.

Creeping Ooze

Aside from protecting my damage dealer from sneak attacks, its Slow ability that Reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters ensures that my team has the speed advantage of landing the first attack when the battle starts.

Battle Highlights

Fire Elemental was able to strike first at the beginning of Round 1 as planned and dealt damage to both enemy monsters on the 1st and 2nd position with its Blast ability. However, the enemy monster tank had some armor so its health was still intact.

Round 2 also went well as planned since enemy monsters on the 2nd and 3rd position died of poison damage. This added more health to Ant Miners, which looks promising as its needed to survive longer for us to win this battle.

My other 3 monsters died of poison damage at the end of Round 2. Leaving Ant Miners by itself but increasing its health further. Although there are still 2 enemy monsters left, their clock is ticking as they are already low on health.

As anticipated, both enemy monsters died of poison damage on Round 3. This added 2 more health to Ant Miners allowing it to survive the next poison damage before the battle ended.

Conclusion

It was an intense battle because of the poison damage dealt to all monsters each turn. This however, made Ant Miners Scavenger ability shine in this battle. Although my damage dealer died early in Round 2, the added health allowed Ant Miners to survive long enough to win the game.

I like using Ant Miners in battles where its Scavenger ability can provide a huge advantage such as in a Noxious Fumes battle ruleset like this.

I hope you liked how this battle turned out. I had fun using Ant Miners in this lineup. Till the next Battle Challenge fellow Splinterlands Adventurers.
