Hello everyone. I hope you're all having a great weekend. Its time for another Splinterlands Battle Challenge. Let's see how we can utilize our featured card for this week and work our way into victory.

THEME: ANIMATED CORPSE
Edition: ALPHA/BETA
Rarity: COMMON
Element: DEATH
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: VOID AT LEVEL 4

Battle Ruleset

Mana Limit: 30

Armored Up: Monsters get +2 added to their armor stat.

Lineup & Strategy

Summoner: Zintar Mortalis

We're usingZintar as our summoner to gain access to our featured card. The -1 Melee attack damage debuff it applies to enemy monsters is also quite good.

=1st Position=
Tank: Bone Golem

Our opponent likes using Water Splinter with Alric as summoner based on the recent battle history. Due to this, we're going to take advantage of this card's Void ability that reduces damage from Magic attacks. A good ability to have for a tank monster facing Magic attack monsters.

=2nd Position=
Animated Corpse

We're placing our featured card on the 2nd position to act as our backup tank just in case our tank monster dies early in the battle. It will also protect our next card from attacks at the frontline once it takes over as tank.

=3rd Position=
Undead Priest

This card's Weaken ability that reduces the Health of all enemy Monsters gives our team a higher chance of doing critical hits.

=4th Position=
Death Elemental

We're going to take advantage of this card's Snipe ability to take out Magic attack monsters behind the tank monster. And since this monster uses Magic attack, it can directly damage an enemy monster's health ignoring any armor it has.

=5th Position=
Venari Bonesmith

One of my favorite cards in the Death Splinter. We're placing it in this position to give it time to accumulate health using its Life Leech ability that increases its health each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt.

=5th Position=
Boogeyman

Last but not the least is Boogeyman. Aside from its 2 Magic attack damage, it also has the Slow ability that reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters giving our team a higher chance of attacking first on each round.

Just as we've anticipated, our opponent used Alric as summoner adding 1 Magic damage to friendly monsters. No monster died on Round 1 but both tanks are running low on health since both teams are mostly using Magic attack monsters.

Both tank monsters died in Round 2 along with our featured card but we are a bit ahead of our opponent since 3 enemy monsters died this round.

Boogeyman was able to kill another enemy monster on Round 3. Its Magic attack ignoring armor was quite the advantage given that the monster it just killed had 4 armor.

Boogeyman once again killed the remaining enemy monster on the battlefield claiming victory in this matchup!!!

Conclusion

We were a bit overpowered by our opponent's lineup having 5 Magic attack monsters that ignores armor. Good thing we had Boogeyman that had 2 Magic attack damage that stepped up killing enemy monsters on every round with the help of Death Elemental and Venari Bonesmith.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Our strategy of using Bone Golem's void ability failed as it died in the early rounds of this matchup. However, the Weaken ability of Undead Priest helped in reducing the enemy team's health making them vulnerable to attacks.
It would have been easier if I had a level 4 Animated Corpse that has the Void ability that would give it a higher chance of surviving more rounds in this battle.

Do you like the ANIMATED CORPSE? Why or why not?

Animated Corpse is a good card for 4 mana. It has high health of 6 and a decent attack of 2. Much better if its level 4 with the Void ability that takes reduced damage from Magic attacks.

I hope you liked our featured battle for this week. Stay safe always and have a good day!!!

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
