Splinterlands Battle Challenge - Pirate Captain

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing fine today. We have another battle challenge for this week. Let's see if we can take advantage of this card's ability to win this matchup.

Abilities: SNIPE//INSPIRE AT LEVEL 6

Battle Ruleset

Mana Limit: 25

Armored Up: Monsters get +2 added to their armor stat.

Little League: You can only use Monsters and Summoners with 4 or less mana.

Lineup Strategy

Summoner: Alric Stormbringer

We're using Alric on this battle to boost our team's Magic attack by 1. Our lineup is mostly composed of monsters using Magic attack that ignores armor since the battle condition in this matchup increases armor by 2.

Tank: Spineback Turtle

We're using this card as tank because of its low mana cost and decent health and armor. Its armor will also be further increased by the Armored Up battle condition giving it a higher chance of surviving till the last round protecting our team from attacks.

Medusa

Next in our lineup is Medusa, one of our damage dealers that uses Magic attack. Were placing it on the 2nd position to also act as a backup tank just in case our tank dies before the last round.

Ice Pixie

Another Magic attack damage dealer. It also has the Flying ability that gives it an increased chance evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Enchanted Pixie

Also one of our Magic attack damage dealers. It also has the Flying ability that increases its chance of evading attacks.

Elven Mystic

Aside from its Magic attack, we're using this card to protect our featured card Pirate Captain from attacks just in case the other monsters in our frontline dies early in the game.

Pirate Captain

Last but not the least is our featured card. We're placing it on the last position since its a Ranged monster. Its Snipe ability will be useful since it can target enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position

Our opponent used Mylor Crowling as summoner adding the Torns ability to his team.

Although our opponent's lineup has a healer monster, our team was still able to eliminate the enemy monster on the 1st slot by Round 1.

Our team eliminated two enemy monsters on Round 2. But our tank monster also died in this round.

Round 3 was quite the same, two enemy monsters were eliminated leaving one enemy monster on our opponent's side of the battlefield.

Ice Pixie struck the last hit on Round 4 eliminating the remaining enemy monster and claiming victory for our team.

Conclusion

Although our opponent's monsters had the Thorns ability (from Mylor) that returns damage back to the Melee attacker, it did not matter that much since we only had one Melee attack monster in our lineup. Magic attack was the way to go in this matchup giving our team an easy win in this battle.

Our strategy was pretty straight forward, ignore their armor and do direct damage. It worked pretty well to our team's advantage.

I like Pirate Captain because of its Snipe ability. Low mana cost monster with a Snipe ability is pretty cool.
