Front VS Back Attack, Tanker Who Strong Against any attack

Hello Splinter Lover we meet again today I will make a post again about event in Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week theme is Target Practice.
I play in the Modern Format, Gold League, using my scholar account from Balthazar. This is their Discord if u want to join, but u must waitlist first because right now the scholar is full.

Ruleset

Reverse Speed, Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have higher chance to evade the attacks, and hit the enemy.
Target Practice, all ranged and magic attack Monster have the Snipe ability.
- Snipe ability, target enemy monsters with Range, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
Ferocity, all monsters have Fury ability.
- Fury ability, do double damage against monsters with the Taunt ability.
Mana cap.
can use element Fire, Earth, Life, and Death

My Lineup and strategy
For Ruleset Ferocity just make sure not to use monster with Taunt ability.
In the Target Practice ruleset, all monsters that can't attack or monsters with ranged and magic attacks in positions 2-6 can appear to have the Taunt ability (all monsters will attack this monster if they can, but only applies to range and magic attacks). For this battle, I will use the Earth element which has lots of monsters with low speed. Earth Element also has summoners who are strong against magic, so we only need to focus on dealing with melee and ranged attacks.

Placed in 2nd position so all range and magic attacks will attack this monster, in the reverse ruleset this monster is not as powerful as used to be. it has a good speed of 4 but in the Reverse Speed ruleset 4 is slow speed, a monster with lower speed is easier to hit, we depend on the Dodge ability, which increases the chance of avoiding enemy attacks by 25%, ability Backfire makes every attack that is successfully avoided by this monster reflect back to the enemy and deals 2 damage. |

Have ability Heal, Affliction, and Silence. | This monster have many good support ability, but the speed is only 1 easy to die when attacked by the enemy, so I put it in this position to make sure it's safe from the front and back attack, at least for a while. While our attacker kills the enemy this monster can heal our tanker monster in the front. The Silence ability will decrease all enemy magic damage by -1. The Affliction ability effect has a 50% chance to inflict upon attack on the enemy monster, when the enemy monster get Affliction status it can't be healed again. |
![]() | Queen Mycelia, 4th position, Attacker and Support. Have Protect, Amplify, Triage, and Rust abilities | This monster is weak has low speed, damage, and HP, easy to kill but has great support ability. Protect ability will increase all friendly monster armor by +2. Amplify will increase the effect of Thorns, Magic Reflect, and Return Fire by 1 but in this battle, we do not use this ability. The Triage ability will heal the monster with the most decreased HP who is not in the first position. Rust will decrease all enemy armor by -2. Put in in behind Goblin psychic to protect goblin psychic from the monster with Sneak ability (attacking monster in the last position), Because I think Goblin Psychic is more useful than this monster. We need to make sure the monster in the first position is alive as long as possible and that can only happen if Goblin Psychic heals it. |

The Battle

Round 1:
The battle starts with buffs and debuffs, it seems the enemy uses the same strategy as us using Chaos Agent as bait so that all range and magic attacks target him.
The difference is that the enemy divides his attacks into attacks from the front and back, while we focus on attacking the enemy in the first position. The enemy summoner will buff all melee damage by +1 and the enemy monster Tusk the wide ability will buff the melee damage again by +1. All of our main attackers (Mycelic Infantry, Goblin Psychic, and Queen Mycelia) speeds are 1 or the fastest speed in this battle with the Reverse Speed ruleset. On the enemy side, there is Doctor Blight who also has a speed of 1, this monster is very dangerous because it can give a Poison effect (at the start of each round it will give damage of 2) and also Affliction (monsters affected by this effect cannot receive the effects of the Heal ability). Both Affliction and Poison effects have 50% chance to inflict upon attack
- Luck was not on our side in this round, our Goblin Psychic attack on the enemy's Chaos Agent missed, while the enemy monster Doctor Blight's attack on our Chaos Agent managed to hit it but didn't give any damage because Doctor Blight's damage was only 1 and we have the Void ability. Doctor Blight's attacks also inflicted a poison effect on Chaos agent.
At the front/first position the Mycelic Infantry who are facing the enemy monster Tusk The Wide do not experience difficulties because of the Shield ability **Tusk's attack only gives 2 damage, while Mycelic gives 5 damage. But the enemy brings a melee monster with the Reach ability which can attack from the second position Radiated Brute which has 5 damage and gives 3 damage to Mycelic Infantri. Luckily on our side we have Goblin Psychic who can restore HP from Mycelic Infantri. Queen Mycelia's attack succeeded in hitting the enemy Chaos Agent,
On the back/last position our Fungus Fiend we were also hit by an attack from the Tenyii Striker (a monster with Sneak ability) which destroyed his armor.

- Round 2:
Chaos Agents affected by the poison have 1 HP remaining. This time our Goblin Psychic Attack succeeded in hitting the Chaos Agent and killing him, the Goblin Pyshic also restored the HP of the Mycelic Infantry who were hit by Tusk's attack. Here you can see Tusk's HP remaining at 4 and our monster Mycelic's HP remaining at 9, the attack from the enemy monster Radiated Brute was successfully avoided due to the difference in speed of these two monsters.
Our Fungus Fiend died after being attacked by the Tenyii Striker. Doctor Blight attacks our Chaos Agent and doesn't do any damage but gives Affliction status which causes this monster no longer able to receive healing from our Queen Mycelia.

- Round 3:
Our Chaos Agent dies from the effects of Poison in this round. Our Mycelic Infantry killed the enemy Tusk The Wide, the enemy Radiated Bruted advanced to the first position.
Doctor Blight's attack hits Goblin Psychic and gives an Affliction effect. Goblin Psychic attacked Radiated Brute and reduced his HP to 4.
Tenyii Strike attacks our Queen Mycelia and destroys her armor.

- Round 4:
Radiated Brute was killed by our monster Mycelic Infantry. Tenyii Striker advanced to first place. Goblin Psychic attacks him reducing his HP and giving an Afflction effect which is actually useless because the enemy doesn't bring a healer.
Doctor Blight attacks Goblin Psychic and gives a poison effect. Queen Mycelia also attacked Tenyii Striker and left her with 4 HP.

- Round 5:
Our Mycelic Infantry attacked Tenyii Strike and killed him. The enemy Scorch Fiend with only 1 HP advanced to the first position and was attacked by our Psychic Goblin.
Finally Doctor Blight advances to first position and we can attack. Doctor Blight attacks Mycelic Infantry and give an Affliction status. Queen Mycelia who attacks Doctor Blight deals 1 damage.

Round 6:
Goblin Psychic had 2 HP left in round 6 and was affected by poison. Our three monsters (Mycelic Infantri, Queen Mycelia, and Goblin Psychic) and attacked Doctor Blight together and left his HP at 2.
In the 7th round, Goblin Psychic died from the effects of Poison. Mycelic Infantry also had their HP reduced due to being affected by Poison. In round 7, Doctor Blight was attacked by the Mycelic Infantry, and with the death of Doctor Blight the victory was ours.

Did your Strategy Work?
Our strategy is going well, there are several strategies that we are implementing in this battle:
- By using monsters that are strong in terms of defense, dodging ability, and damage as tankers in the first position Mycelic Infantry and ensuring that the tankers can last a long time by:
- Use the summoner Immortalist which can provide the Void ability so that all attacks (range, melee, and magic) will have reduced damage by 50%.
- Bring a Goblin Psychic healer who can restore his HP in each round.
- Also we brought Queen Mycelia who can increase her armor.
- The enemy, as we expected, brought a monster with Sneak ability and we anticipated this by placing Fungus Fiend which was assisted by additional armor from Queen Mycelia at the back.
- Bring Chaos Agent as a tanker in the Target Practice ruleset to deal with Doctor Blight attacks, Chaos Agent can survive until round 2 and give more time for Goblin psychic before starting attacked by Doctor Blight and got Poison status, It keep healing Mycelic Infantry until round 5. At the end of round 5 Doctor Blight attacks Mycelic Infantry and gives Affliction status.
Is there a better strategy?

Actually, there is a monster that can Reflect Magic and can't attack in the Earth element the monster is Failed Summoner, but this monster is expensive to rent or buy. This monster can also reduce melee attacks by -1. Another advantage is that this monster has a large HP of 9 and only requires 2 mana.
This monster can replace Chaos Agent and with the help of Queen Mycelia Amplify ability, damage from Reflect Magic ability will increase. To use this monster we have to change our summoner to Obsidian because we don't have enough mana. Immortalis requires 6 mana while Obsidian only requires 4 mana.

With an additional 2 mana due to the change in summoner we can replace Chaos Agent which requires 1 mana with Failed Summoner which requires 2 mana so that there is 1 mana left to add 1 more monster at the back, and Mycelic Morphoid I think is a good option. This monster can deal Thorns damage, this Thorns ability is similar to Reflect Magic from Failed Summoner but just giving a counterattack to the melee monster, in this battle will re-injure the Tenyii Striker every time it is attacked.

So this is the formation I think will be better than our formation in this battle but needs further testing :
