Hello everyone, we meet again. How are you? I hope you have a great battle in Splinterland, with the new rating patch the battle becoming more interesting because we can meet player at the lower and higher leagues. Today I will make a post again about the Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Equal Opportunity ruleset.

I play in the Modern Format Diamond League, using my scholar account from Balthazar I only use cheap cards like Chaos, Reward, and some Neutral.

Ruleset

  • Broken Arrow, monsters with range attack can't be used in this battle.

  • Equal Opportunity, all monsters have Opportunity ability. Opportunity Ability, all monsters will attack the enemy monsters with the lowest HP.

  • Unprotected, all monster armor is disabled, and all buff which gives armor from summoner or monsters not working in this ruleset.

  • mana cap.

  • can use elements Fire, Water, Earth and Life.

My Lineup and strategy

In this battle, we decided to use the water element because there is an Unprotected ruleset which causes all monsters to lose their armor so they are easier to kill by melee attacks. Therefore if we use monsters with high speed it increases our chances of attacking and killing the enemy first before the enemy monster has time to deal damage. Many monsters with high speed and quite a lot of damage in the water element.

This is my lineup :

Summoner or monsterAbilitiesDescription
Possibilus the Wise, summoner. Has the buff of +2 HP, and gives Trample and Reach abilities to all friendly monstersWith +2 HP boost our survival capability., with this summoner Reach ability all melee unit in the 2nd position now can attack the enemy in the first position. Every time our monster kills the enemy, it will immediately attack the monster behind because it has the Trample ability.
Baakjira, 1st position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Void, Slow, Strengthen, and Heal. This monster can defend against melee, ranged, and magical attacks. It has a high amount of health points, along with valuable abilities such as Void (reducing magic damage by 50%), Strengthen (increasing the HP of all allied monsters by 1), and Slow (reducing enemy speed by 1). To make it perfect this monster can Heal (restoring some HP every round). Okay, it's not that perfect actually, this monster can't attack and has slow speed.
Kulu Mastermind, 2nd position, attacker. Has ability Weapons Training, Opportunity, Shield, and, Enrage.I put this melee monster in the 2nd position to give Weapon Training to the monster in the 1st and 3rd position. With Weapon Training now the monster who can't attack can have a melee attack. Shield ability will decrease the melee and range damage by 50%. When this monster's HP is decreasing will activate the Enrage ability to give a boost to the damage and speed.
Noa The Just, 3rd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Rust, and Dodge. We use this monster because has the support ability Rust that will decrease all enemy monsters' armor by -2, making our melee unit easier to kill the enemy. Same as Baakjira this monster can't attack, But now with Weapon Training from Kulu Mastermind both monsters can use melee attack, with the max damage being 3. This monster has high speed and Dodge ability which will increase the chance to evade the enemy and melee attack by 50%, and to make it more annoying for the enemy, this monster has Backfire ability, if the enemy misses this unit with an attack the attacker takes 2 melee damage.
Coastal Sentry, 4th position, Attacker. Has the ability Double Strike, Piercing, and Knock OutI think this is the best attacker (damage and speed) we have now in our deck, this is our main attacker I put it almost in the middle to make sure it's safe from the front and back attack for a while. With Double Strike this monster will attack twice each round giving 5 damage each for a total of 10 damage with the Piercing ability if the attack by this monster hits the armor and destroys it, then the remaining damage will hit the HP make this monster easier to kill the enemy. Usually, this monster can attack from the first position, but because of the ruleset Equal Opportunity it can attack from this position, this monster's weakness does not have a good defense ability, easy to die. Knock Out ability will make the attack of this monster do double damage if hits the enemy who has Stun status.
River Nymph, 5th position, attacker and support. Has the ability Cleanse, Amplify, and Swiftness. We use this monster because it has The support ability Swiftness that can increase the speed of all our allied monsters. Cleanse ability willl remove any negative effects from our monster in the first position, like Stun, Poison, Affliction, etc. Because have low HP this monster will be attacked by many enemy monsters, hope can make our monster attack first and kill 1-2 enemies before it dies.
Cruel Sethropod, 6th position, Attacker and tanker, not have any ability.I use this monster as a tanker behind to protect another monster from the enemy monster who has Sneak ability (attack the monster in the last position) and for mana 3 with armor 6 and HP 7 it has a very good base stats, it is a monster that is strong against melee or ranged attacks but weak against magic attacks. Usually, this monster can only attack if put in the first position like Coastal Sentry.

Our Formation is finished and we are ready to battle :

Did your Strategy Work?

Yes, the strategy works well, the River Nymph Swiftness increase the speed, with high speed and big damage we can kill the enemy monster Iziar first without giving him a chance to attack, and with the Trample ability possessed by the summoner we make Kulu Mastermind after killing Iziar immediately attacks Jared Scar left it with 1 HP, this makes it seem as if this monster attacks twice in 1 round:

In this second round, Jared Scar already has a higher speed than most of our monsters because he managed to kill 2 of our monsters and activate the ability Bloodlust (increases all existing stats by 1). In this round we can see the Trample ability activated, at the first strike of our Coastal Sentry attack evaded by Jared Scar, but the 2nd strike hit it and killed Jared Scar and Adelade Brightwing. With the death of Jared Scar the battle becomes easier, Jared Scar is their main attacker if not because the ruleset is Unprotected we may use it too, Jared Scar HP and speed are not that great without armor easy to die.

Thank you, my friend, for taking the time to review my battle report. I appreciate your efforts and would be grateful if you could provide me with feedback on any mistakes you find by leaving a comment.
