The dangers of the Cruel Sethrodpod are legendary. With strong pincers and sharp teeth they are able to latch on to their prey and not let go. This makes the Cruel Sethopod formidable both in the sea and in battles.

The Lineup

Summoner

Due to the Reverse Speed ruleset, I choose to go with Bortus for this battle. At three Mana and his ability to reduce the opponents Magic by one I thought this summoner would be good in case the opposing team brought magic.

Alas they did not bring magic so Bortus really didn't contribute much to my line up.

Front Row

At 3 Mana and acting like a great low Mana tank is the start of the battle, the Cruel Sethropod. The Cruel Sethropod brings in 1 Attack, 1 Speed, 3 Armor (5 with the Venari Wavesmith) and 4 Health. And as noted works as a very good low mana tank for the Water Splinter

All said, he did take many hits in the first round and was taken out before round two, which to me as long as he can spend a little time absorbing hits he has done his job.

Second

At 8 Mana I next chose to bring in Djinn Oshannus. At 2 Magic, 5 Speed, 10 Health and 2 Armor thanks again to the Wavesmith, Oshannus makes a really good tank on his own.

And what a tank he ended up being, with healing from the Merdaali Guardian, he was able to hold the new front line for the next 5 round ultimately helping win the battle.

Third

Coming in at the third spot at 3 Mana was the Merdaali Guardian. She has 2 Speed and 3 Health, and an added 2 Armor with the Wavesmith. But what makes her truly special is her Tank Heal ability.

And with the Tank Heal she was able to keep Oshannus alive throughout the entire battle. Even when the enemy had a couple good tanks of their own.

Fourth

In the fourth spot I wanted a monster that would continue the theme of good defense/healing while the tanks do their job. And, with 1 Magic, 2 Speed, 3 Health and the Protect Ability, the Venari Wavesmith delivered.

On top of the useful Protect ability the Wavesmith also sent out some damage on her own

Fifth

And last but not least in the fifth spot I had 4 Mana left so I went with the Kulu Swimhunter. With 2 Ranged, 2 Speed and 4 health, the Swimhunter made an excellent addition to my lineup.

Left all alone in the back the Swimhunter was able to hit for 2 Ranged damage each round greatly contributing to the win.

Conclusion

So, what do I think about the Cruel Sethropod...

The Cruel Sethropod has really always been my choice on any low Mana match, it really does make a great tank, and is also useful in Rise of the Commons and Little League rulesets.

I can definitely now say that I will continue to use these in my Water Splinter matches and hopefully see many more wins thanks to the usefulness of the Cruel Sethropod...
