40 x Chaos Legion Pack Opening - Splinterlands

I woke up today and decided instead of holding onto my Chaos packs I would open all x 40 of them and then buy more down the line.
Initially when I brought my packs in the pre-sale it was on the premise that all Chaos Legion packs would be sold out within a week! Well it doesn’t seem that these packs will be selling out any time soon!
Granted we are now onto the final 6 airdrops so a push for packs may come with the chance of sneaking in and grabbing a Legendary Summoner card..But if that happens I will just re-buy my allocation.

Chaos Legion Current Status:

- 6,987,420 packs remaining!.
- 8,012,580 packs SOLD!
- 987,420 until the 1st Legendary Summoner Drops - Logic says it should be FIRE but I believe Nate announced it will be LIFE.

My x40 Chaos Packs:

So I brought enough potions for all x40 so I was giving myself the best chance of pulling Legendary cards and Gold Foils.
x 40 packs equates to 12,000 airdrop points.

Total Value Gained From Packs:
  • CP Value = 10,400.
  • Current Market Value = $156.26
  • Average Pack Value = $3.53 vs My x40 Average of $3.90 - So slightly above average.

Obviously the above values are based on the current declining markets, that a few months ago would have probably been a total value of at least $300.

I will show full pack results below and you can decide if it was a good idea to open or not. On paper I would have been better off holding onto the unopened packs pure and simply the CP Value vs Airdrop Value is -1,600 however that said I now have better cards to play with so potentially more wins, higher league positions and more DEC and Loot Chests...Potentially!
