Modern EPIC Monsters You Need! - Part 4
In this post I want to spend a short time talking about the "LIFE" deck and Modern must own monsters, specifically EPIC.
This is part 4 of a 7 part mini series where I delve into what I believe is the best EPIC Modern mosters to own, looking at both Utility, Synergy and Cost.
Djinn Renova
Starting off with unbelievably the CHEAPEST EPIC Card you can buy and its unbelievable for what you get. Level 1 gets 2x Magic, 2x Speed and x6 HP with Strengthen ability meaning it will pump everyone’s HP by 1. Just from that this card offers mass Utility MAX Level will get x4 Magic, x3 Speed, The same HP but aswell as Strengthen you get Triage meaning not only are you pumping the teams health by 1 but your supporting the backline with Healing.
Only real weakness here is the low HP so you would need to bring in Truthspeaker for the armour buff.
Overall Score 7/10.
Synergy with Sloan...Not great, however with Mother Khala boosting the HP is just what this card needs to make it better, but just 1 HP boost isnt the greatest so It could do with something else like Devine Shield or a Magic buff.
Overall Score 4/10.
Currently the cost is at $0.56 per BCX / 170 DEC - MAX Copy $26 / 7,820 DEC, So in costing terms and as mentioned above it is the cheapest EPIC card you can currently buy. So all you are getting for a Level 1 its really a no brainer!
Overall Score 8/10.
You cant go wrong with the costing of this card with the Utility it offer, yes its not the best in Synergy but it could be the difference between a win or a loss with that Strengthen ability. I would look to pick a level 4 at least if you can.

Dax Paragon
Another Magic card however on stats its not looking the best, Level 1 gets 1x Magic, 2x Speed and x3 HP with NO ABILITIES So not the greatest card at Level 1 but for 2 mana is it enough...Probably not! How about MAX Level that will get x2 Magic, x2 Speed, x5 HP so slightly better but nothing amazing but now you also get Amplify meaning Thorns, Magic Reflect, Return Fire all increased, also Affliction meaning the opposition wont be able to heal. So level 1 not great Level MAX for 2 MANA this card become an amazing support card, will just come down the cost.
Overall Score 7/10.
Synergy with Sloan again mot great and same with Mother Khala so Synergy this card isnt the best. But as mentioned above this card on its own at MAX level is a great support card so it doesn’t really need a boosted summoner...but it would be nice.
Overall Score 4/10.
Currently the cost is at $1.44 per BCX / 441 DEC - MAX Copy $60 / 20K DEC, So slightly more expensive than the previous card, but as mentioned above for this card to be worth using you need a MAX copy so unlike the above where you could get away with a Level 1 here its a no go and for that the score is reflected.
Overall Score 2/10.
So overall great card if you dont mind paying $60 but who really wants to drop that on card that may or may not be useful...Not sure and so its a hard pass for me.

Prismologist
Now were talking yes its the most mana but lets look at what we are getting at Level 1 gets 3x Range, 2x Speed, 2x Armour and x4 HP with Blast So all of that at Level 1...Pretty nice. MAX Level that will get x4 Range, x2 Speed, 2x Armour and x5 HP with Blast, Forcefield and Silence meaning it will take less damage but give out more damage the higher the card gets. So from a Utility standpoint its almost perfect.
Overall Score 9/10.
Now Synergy with Sloan its a match made in heaven, +1 range meaning at level 1 this card will be doing x4 range which is crazy but at MAX level x5 and add in Blast! EPIC truly!
So Synergy unlike Utility is perfect!
Overall Score 10/10.
Currently the cost is at $1.60 per BCX / 490 DEC - MAX Copy $73 / 22.5K DEC, So whilst its the most expensive on this list for a Level 1, its also not expensive by any means! I really like the ability Silence and also the Synergy and Utility of this card so for me I would be willing to invest and get a MAX copy but I know thats personal preference. So just taking it as a Level 1 for all you get, The Synergy and Utility and Cost its a must from me!
Overall Score 8/10.
So overall for me this is a buy now buy quick! I love it for all 3 points! its a high scorer, the highest score I believe from all 3 parts so far. Its just a really useful card, regardless of the mana cost.

Overall:
For me its a toss up between Djinn Renova and Prismologist if you dont mind the extra then for me in Prismologist however bang for buck Renova is the way to go! That being said If it was my investment I would personally go for the more expensive for all the point mentioned above.
