What is a Guild?

In Splinterlands a Guild is a community of players all fighting for the same team, you do this is the space of 1 v 1 battles or Brawls. The higher the Guild the higher the rewards. You can communicate to the guild members through the chat function and also "Discord" if the Guild has one setup.

What is the cost $$$?

To start off you will need to pay 10K DEC which on current value of $0.0036 equates to $37 which if you compare this to DEC's all time high of $0.016 which would have cost you around $165 so this is a real steal and you would say its the perfect time to get in and setup your own Guild.

However what you must know is this is just the start of the cost you will incur. If you just want a Guild without levelling up any buildings and you are limited to 15 members then 10K DEC is all you need however if you want the higher rewards linked below your going to need to fork out a few more DEC:

The Guild Hall

This is broken out into 10 levels, For opening a Guild you get "Lvl 1" this means you can have upto 15 members in the Guild.
You can max this out at "Lvl 10" for 1M DEC / $3,672. This levelling also defines the level you can level up other buildings.

The Lodge

This is broken out into 10 levels, The Lodge is where you can gain % increases on DEC for ranked battle wins. This is levelled up by earning quest scrolls. "Lvl 1" requires 15 Scrolls and This gives you +1 DEC bonus.
You can max this out at "Lvl 10" for 600 Scrolls & You get +20% DEC bonus.

The Arena

This is broken out into 10 levels, The Arena allows your Guild to compete in "Brawls". This is where your Guild fights other guilds in leader board structure, this is weekly and pays out "Merits" dependant on your overall Guild performance. "Lvl 1" requires 10K DEC / $37.
You can max this out at "Lvl 10" for 1.5M DEC / $5,508 for that you get to enter 25 frays vs 13 giving your team more opportunities to fight and gain rewards which also scales.

The Barracks

This is broken out into 10 levels, The Barracks allows your Guild extra powers and advantages. "Lvl 1" requires 10K DEC / $37.
You can max this out at "Lvl 10" for 1.5M DEC / $5,508

The Store

This is broken out into 10 levels, The Store allows your Guild buy cards to use in the "Brawls" these are "Gladius" Cards, there are also other items to purchase the more you level up. "Lvl 1" requires 10K DEC / $37.
You can max this out at "Lvl 10" for 1.5M DEC / $5,508

Total Guild Cost Level 1 to 10:

So as you can see having a guild can be very expensive and something to take into consideration when thinking of starting up your own. For me personally I’ve recently took the opportunity to start my own guild which I will link below, however I am going in 50/50 with another player, also we have set clear guidelines for NEW users:

- 200 DEC Joining Fee.
- 200 DEC End of Season Fee.

We will increase the fees over time and as we level up as the members will be benefiting from "Gladius" packs, DEC Win Bonuses, Merits, Store Discounts and other unknown "Guild" benefit set to be introduced when LAND arrives! Aggy has often said Guilds have gone untouched / updated since it launched and he wants to push focus onto enticing players to not only join but pay towards a guild / Own their own.

In Conclusion:

In my opinion NOW is the time to start a Guild if you were ever thinking of doing so. DEC hasn’t been as cheap as it is now so cost averaging your getting a great deal. Then just ensure the Guild pays towards the success of the Guild and don’t allow any freeloaders and it will pay for itself over time and as a community you reap the rewards.
